This unmodified 1990 Jaguar XJ-S is a 16K-mile British convertible finished in Diamond Blue with a dark blue fabric top over a Magnolia leather interior trimmed with woodgrain accents. It comes equipped with cruise control, a power roof and windows, and heated power seats. Under the front-hinged hood is a 5.3-liter V12 that routes its output to the road through a 3-speed automatic transmission and the rear wheels. Currently located in Morgan Hill, California, this Jaguar droptop is available now with a clean Carfax report and a clear title.
Jaguar produced the XJ-S (later changed to XJS) grand tourer in various body styles with six- or 12-cylinder power over a 20-year production run that ended in 1996. A full convertible model was added to the lineup for the 1988 model year. As its door jamb tag indicates, this particular XJ-S convertible comes dressed in Diamond Blue (JFN) and is equipped with a dark blue power convertible top. Features include quad round headlights, a black front bumper with integrated amber turn signals, fender flares, and a black rear bumper above a pair of round exhaust finishers. Brightwork accents are found around the headlights and on the grille frame, bumpers, windshield surround, mirror caps, door handles, fuel filler cap, and trunk trim plate.
The car rolls on a set of 15-inch chrome lattice wheels surrounded by black-sidewall tires.
The trim code AEM on the door jamb tag denotes this car is furnished with a Magnolia interior. The two-seater cabin consists of heated, power-adjustable bucket seats with contrast piping, a center console with a storage compartment, color-coordinated door panels, and a locking compartment behind the seats. Woodgrain trim is located on the door panels, black dashboard, and center console. Amenities include cruise control, a power roof and windows, a Jaguar-branded AM/FM radio with a tape player, and a digital multi-information display.
Behind the four-spoke steering wheel is a set of instruments that includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and drum-style gauges for the coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage. The six-digit odometer displays a reading of 16,793 miles.
The front-hinged hood covers a naturally aspirated 5.3-liter V12 that routes its power to the road through a 3-speed automatic transmission and the rear wheels. The video below shows the engine idling.
Images of portions of the car's underbody can be viewed in the photo carousel to the right.
According to the Carfax report that goes from March of 1991 through March of 2017, the car has spent time in Idaho, Washington, and California, where it is currently located. A video is available for viewing below.
