1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 4-Speed

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS has spent its entire life in California and was the recipient of a recent body-off restoration with a heavy focus on originality and authenticity. Power comes from a 396ci big-block V8 paired with a Muncie M22 "Rock Crusher" 4-speed manual transmission and equipment includes power brakes, an AM radio, seat belts, and a heater/defroster. Originally built in VanNuys, California, and now currently available in Clovis, Califonia, this first-generation Camaro is offered with a car cover, original license plate, and a clear title in the seller's name.

Chrome bumpers and stainless trim accent the original-color Madeira Maroon (NN) respray completed under prior ownership in 2016 at the cost of approximately $8,000. Exterior features include the '67-only vent windows, a black stripe around the nose of the car, a vented hood, SS badging on the grille and rear fascia, and the front license plate sticker from 1967. The seller notes that the reverse lamps do not work and that a car cover is included with the sale. 

The car sits atop a set of BFGoodrich Radial T/A's mounted to the stock 5-spoke silver wheels with bowtie center caps. Power brakes are fitted and the suspension has been restored but is still standard for the model year. The seller adds that the front passenger side tire rubs when making hard right turns.

The interior is trimmed in black vinyl with a color-matching center console, door panels, and dash pad. The seats are equipped with new old stock belts and the original AM radio has been restored to like-new condition but remains uninstalled. Additional equipment includes a heater/defroster and a 4-speed console shifter. 

Instrumentation, which is housed behind the stock steering wheel and in the center stack, consists of dials for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery voltage, and an analog clock. The 120-mph speedometer was serviced during the restoration at which time the 5-digit odometer was reset to zero. The current reading is reported to be 679, representing the total miles driven since completion of the restoration.

Power is produced by a 396ci big-block V8 which was dyno tested at 366 horsepower after the professional overhaul in 2019. Per the seller, the rebuild entailed full machine work and installation of a magnafluxed new old stock intake manifold, followed by the proper break-in procedure by the shop. A Muncie 4-speed "Rock Crusher" manual transmission replaced the original unit in December of 2017.

The independent front suspension is complemented by 3.31:1 gearing in the rear, and the engine breathes through a dual exhaust system.
