Vehicle Story

This 1970 Ford Mustang Mach I is a matching-numbers 2-door SportsRoof that has undergone a professional repaint and a mechanical refreshment. Newer items include ribbed valve covers, plugs, wires, shock tower bushings, a dual glass-pack style exhaust, and carpet. Factory features consist of front and rear spoilers, high-back bucket seats, Magnum 500 wheels, original AM radio, power steering, front disc brakes, and more. The car was built in December 1969 and is powered by its original 351ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission. Finished in Grabber Blue with black racing stripes over a white vinyl interior, this Mach I is now offered with a Marti Report and a clear Michigan title in the seller’s name.

The Grabber Blue finish with black racing stripes is reported to have been professionally applied under previous ownership, and it involved some metal replacement per the seller. Exterior features include a shaker hood, chin spoiler, rear window louvers, a trunk-mounted spoiler, and "Mach 1" badges.

Factory Magnum 500 15” chrome-finished wheels with black accents are free of curb rash per the seller and are wrapped in 275/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires. As with all Mach I models, this example came standard with power steering and front disc brakes.

The interior is fitted with high-back vinyl bucket seats, a center console with a "tall" armrest, a 3-spoke steering wheel with a Mustang center cap, and the functional original AM radio. Newer black carpeting has been installed.

Instrumentation consists of the original 120-mph speedometer, 8k tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level, all set within a woodgrain surround. Gauges and switches are reported to function properly, aside from the analog clock. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 94k miles, 1k of which have been added by the seller during three years of ownership. The seller asserts that the current mileage is true.

The matching-numbers 351ci Windsor V8 is reported to be in good running condition and is mated to a 3-speed FMX automatic transmission. A small leak of unknown origin is present per the seller.

The shocks and struts were replaced as part of a suspension refurbishment in 2019.

The sale includes a Marti Report and documentation of the recent suspension work.

Hello- the car is solid but eventually will need the seals replaced due to them getting brittle over time/lack of usage/activity.
