Vehicle Story

This 1971 Ford Bronco is a custom-built example powered by a performance-upgraded small block 302ci V8 mated to a Hughes automatic transmission. This Bronco has been repainted outside and in and offers modern black vinyl seating, modern sound, and a lifted suspension. Other features include an Edelbrock Performer intake, power steering and brakes, aftermarket steering wheel, BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain tires, Warn locking hubs, auxiliary lighting, custom bumpers, and more. Finished in Dark Orange Metallic over a reupholstered black vinyl interior, this first-generation Bronco is now offered with a soft top, awards, and a clear Oklahoma title in the seller’s name.

The first Bronco sport utility vehicle launched in 1966 on an exclusive chassis, available only in four-wheel drive at the time. The body utilized symmetrical door skins, all-flat glass, and a variety of body styles. This example is configured as an open-body roadster and was painted Dark Orange Metallic during a restoration under previous ownership. Exterior features consist of color-matched fender flares, black tubular bumpers, auxiliary KC lighting, and more. A replacement uninstalled soft top in like-new condition is included with the sale. The vehicle does not have doors.

Polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in 35"x12.5" BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires. Handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes, and the lifted suspension uses Rancho shock absorbers. There are Warn locking hubs for activation of the four-wheel-drive system.

The interior offers black vinyl bucket seats up front and a Dark Orange Metallic tubular roll cage. The audio system is a modern Pioneer head unit connected to Kicker speakers, and additional features include an aftermarket three-spoke steering wheel and a full-sized spare tire mounted in the rear tub.

Instrumentation is provided by aftermarket Dakota Digital gauges with a speedometer and readouts for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. A replacement digital odometer is included in the cluster, though true chassis mileage is unknown.

The small-block 302ci V8 has been upgraded with an Edelbrock Performer intake, a four-barrel carburetor, and performance headers with a dual exhaust system. The electrical system has been overhauled, and power is directed to all four wheels via a replacement Hughes automatic transmission.

Photos of the undercarriage are available in the gallery.

The sale includes a soft top and awards received. Videos are available for viewing below.
