LS3-Powered 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible 5-Speed

This Matador Red RestoMod Camaro convertible received a frame-off rotisserie restoration and has been upgraded with a GM Performance 6.2-liter V8 LS3 crate engine that seller states produces 430 hp. Power is transferred by a Tremec TKO five-speed manual transmission with overdrive backed by a 3.73 positraction rear. Further updates include a front and rear Ridetech coilover suspension, front control arms, rear four-link setup, Holley electronic fuel injection system, and a Vintage Air A/C system. The car is available in Cave Creek, Arizona. 

With a frame-off rotisserie restoration this Camaro is finished in Matador Red with a ceramic coat and 3M clear bra protection. The exterior features black SS striping on the sides and nose, front and rear chrome bumpers, and chrome hood louvers. Camaro, SS and 396 chrome emblems offset the red exterior and a black electric convertible soft top completes this RestoMod Camaro.

The seller states that the vehicle rides on its original Chevy Rally wheels and it has new  BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires featuring raised white lettering on all four wheels. The suspension has been upgraded with front control arms, front and rear Ridetech coilover suspension, rear four-link setup, and four-wheel power disc brakes.

The Camaro’s black interior features front bucket seats, carpeting, Chevrolet floor mats, and a woodgrain console with the floor-mounted manual gear shift and gauge cluster with voltmeter, coolant temperature, oil pressure and fuel gauges. Above the center console the woodgrain dash houses an AM radio and temperature controls for the Vintage Air air conditioning.

A 120 mph speedometer and a 7,000 rpm Tic-Toch-Tac featuring a center clock are in circular pods on the dash. The odometer reads 39,579 miles, the seller states that the mileage is not accurate.

The original power plant has been upgraded with a Holley electronic fuel-injected GM Performance 6.2-liter V8 LS3 crate engine that the seller estimates produces 430 hp. The appearance of the engine has been addressed with period Chevy Orange engine paint, value cover caps and a period air cleaner to simulate a factory look. A tig welded and mandrel bent dual exhaust system helps the LS3 breathe, a new Optima battery keeps the charge flowing, and the engine maintains synthetic fluids. This Camaro has a Tremec TKO five-speed manual featuring overdrive with a 3.73 positraction rear.
