Vehicle Story

This 1964 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III is a British-built luxury saloon with a reported 45,000 original miles that is powered by a rebuilt 6.2-liter V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission that has also been rebuilt. It resided in California and was relocated to Florida under the seller’s ownership and features wide whitewall tires, chrome brightwork, a straight body, working air conditioning, new audio system, and lambs wool floor mats. Finished in white over a tan leather interior, this Silver Cloud is now offered with an owner’s manual, a tool kit, and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.

The Silver Cloud four-door luxury saloon went into production by Rolls-Royce Limited beginning in 1955 in Crewe, England. Engineering changes were carried out in the years that followed, and in 1963 the Silver Cloud III debuted with revised dimensions and reduced weight compared to prior iterations. This Silver Cloud III from 1964 year was reportedly California-owned long-term and repainted white under prior ownership. Equipment includes quad headlights, a Spirit of Ecstasy hood ornament, bright moldings, and chrome bumpers with guards at both the front and rear. The seller notes that the paint has some chips and other blemishes but is in good overall driver-quality condition throughout.

Steel wheels have stainless-steel covers with body-colored inserts and are wrapped in wide-whitewall tires.

The interior is fitted with reupholstered tan leather seats both front and rear, matched to the door panels and carpeting while contrasted by a black dash. The cabin is accented in woodgrain trim, and features include lambswool floor mats, air conditioning, door sill trim plates, power windows, and a new AM/FM/CD stereo, with a CD player and speakers. The seller has added lambs wool floor mats.

Smiths instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a 5K-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 45K miles which the seller states is actual, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The rebuilt 6.2-liter V8 is fed via two SU carburetors and received service within the past year. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 4-speed automatic transmission. Seller notes the engine and transmission have been professionally rebuilt along with installing a new alternator and air-condition compressor.

The braking system was serviced within the last year. Seller notes one of the two master cylinders is seeping but a new master cylinder will be included in the sale.

The sale includes an owner’s manual and a tool kit.
