Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1955 Packard 400 two-door hardtop is a garage-kept coupe with whitewall tires, chrome brightwork, and rear fender skirts. It is powered by a 352ci OHV V8 paired with an Ultramatic two-speed automatic transmission. Finished in two-tone red and white over a black red, and cream vinyl interior, this Packard is now offered on behalf of an estate with a clear Florida title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This 400 two-door hardtop was built by the Studebaker-Packard Corporation and comes finished in two-tone red and white. It has been garage-kept and features chrome brightwork, a hood ornament, anodized gold emblems, dual side mirrors, wheel skirts, and dual exhaust outlets that exit from the rear bumper.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 15-inch wheels with polished covers are wrapped in whitewall tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The cabin is fitted with dual bench seats upholstered in black, red, and cream vinyl and protected by plastic covers. The door panels are two-tone red and white. Amenities include power windows, a clock, a push-button AM radio, floor mats, and aluminum door sill plates.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation is installed within a bright bezel and includes a central 120-mph speedometer accompanied by gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 76K miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 352ci OHV V8 sends power to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Ultramatic two-speed automatic transmission.

@Caddys2020 – hello , what is the upclose condition of the paint , also is the upholstery under the clear plastics the original , and condition ,thanks ...

The paint on this vehicle is in good condition. It looks like it was prepped very well, and the paint is smooth and shines. Mr. Hatton had purchased this car in 2015 and the seats look like they are in great condition. However, I cannot tell you if they were recovered or not.
