Vehicle Story

This 1981 Fiat 124 Spider 2000 is finished in dark silver metallic with a black cloth top over a saddle leather interior and is powered by a 2.0L inline-4 cylinder engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.  Restored in 2010 by the previous owner, the seller acquired the car in 2015, and equipment includes ANSA exhaust, modern audio system, Nardi steering wheel, and wood-trimmed interior.  Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, this Spider is now offered on a clear British Columbia registration in the seller’s name.

The body was refinished in its original dark silver metallic in 2010 by the prior owner.  The seller indicates minor rock chips on the hood and a small scratch on the passenger side fender over the wheel well.  The black cloth soft top was replaced during the restoration and is equipped with a plastic rear window and tan leather boot cover.  All the brightwork is in good condition, including chrome door handles and headlight bezels, windshield trim, and bumpers.   Pininfarina badges are affixed in the factory locations on the rear quarter panels, while Fiat badges are mounted on the hood and decklid.  An ANSA exhaust system with dual chrome tips is equipped.

Factory 14” original cromodora wheels with Fiat logo center caps are mounted to Goodyear Assurance 185/65 tires on all four corners. A full-size spare is housed in the trunk as well as accompanying factory jack equipment.

The interior is fitted with bucket seats upholstered in tan leather with matching door panels and center console. Tan carpeting covers the floor, while the black dash features a wood face. Additional wood accents are found on the center console and shift knob, as well as the 3-spoke Nardi steering wheel. The original radio was upgraded to a classic-look head unit with Bluetooth, CD and auxiliary inputs, and additional speakers in the kick panels.

Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer and 8k-rpm tachometer, along with gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and an analog clock.  The five-digit odometer reads 46k kilometers, which are the total miles since the 2010 restoration.  The seller has added 10k over five years of ownership.  True mileage on the vehicle is unknown.

The 2.0L 4-cylinder DOHC engine is original to the vehicle and was factory rated at 102 horsepower when new. Both the engine and 5-speed manual transmission were rebuilt during the 2010 restoration. The most recent maintenance includes a rebuild of the fuel system consisting of new injectors, fuel lines, and the addition of a pre-pump filter. The rear axle seals were replaced as well, all maintenance records from the seller's tenure are included in the sale.

Additional photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.

The sale includes an original owner's manual, radio user's manual, and service receipts from the current owner’s history.

@triggiano – Absolutely, I encourage you to look at the car as it is a rare find, the bumper needs an adjustment, I want to be clear for others reading this there is no front end damage. Pls see my comment below on how to arrange the showing a showing. I will make myself available once you can get the intro through auto hunters. ...
