The 1963 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk is one of 4,634 two-door sport coupes produced for the year and comes with records dating back to 1979. Finished in Ermine White over black, the Hawk is powered by a 289ci V8 mated to a Flight-O-Matic automatic transmission. Features consist of a factory chrome dress-up kit, power steering, front disc brakes, and dual exhaust. Recent work has included replacement front glass and rubber, a new heavy-duty water pump, thermostat, hoses, belts, fuel sending unit, and a radiator flush. This GT Hawk has been with the seller for six years and is offered with 40 years of records and a clear Washington State title in the seller's name.
1963 saw some style refinements, including new round parking lights below the headlights, a closed-end grille with a square pattern over the existing fine mesh, added red, white, and blue emblems aft of the GT badge on the doors, and a reversed color scheme on the rear aluminum overlay. This example is finished in Ermine White with chrome shoulder trim, side mirrors, and bumpers.
15" chrome wheels with Studebaker hubcaps are wrapped in whitewall rubber, and dual exhaust tips can be found at the rear. The windshield glass and rubber have been replaced.
Interior changes in 1963 consisted of superior-quality vinyl and vertical pleats instead of the previous horizontal ones found on prior-year cars. This Hawk is trimmed in black with red piping with chrome door pulls and window cranks, lap belts, matching embroidered floor mats, center console between the front buckets, and pull-down armrest integrated into the rear bench.
The gauge cluster is framed in wood grain, and the five-digit odometer shows under 50k miles. The seller states and records support that the dial has rolled over. All gauges are in working order, except for the clock and radio. A full-size spare is located in the trunk.
Power comes from a 289ci V8, which was rebuilt in the 1970s and unknown if it is the original powerplant, and it is mated to a Flight-O-Matic automatic transmission. Recent work has included new belts, thermostat and hoses, fuel sending unit, installation of a heavy-duty water pump, and a radiator flush. An aluminum fan shroud and chrome valve covers are fitted.
Handling and stopping are managed by power steering and front disc brakes. Photos show the condition of the underside.

@VPHome – Will try to get more pics underneath. I have had the car 6 years sitting in the garage except 2-3 times a month drive. I have not changed the tires since I’ve had the car, but they look fine and have not had any air leaks. Had to take the car out to check oil pressure. After starting it showed 35 lbs and driving down the road it settled in at 65 lbs. on my short 15-20 min drive. Hope that helps. ...

Is the car in good enough condition to drive to middle America? Are the lights,brakes,and wipers, good? Do you have old replace parts?
Haven’t seen additional pics posted of the under carriage. Frame, floor pans, inside trunk with cover removed. Really need to see if rust is a problem. Also, how much if any bondo work has been done?

No air conditioner. It does have the pop out vents on the sides to direct air to the inside.

Pretty nice 63. Upholstery appears customized (ribbing) and trunk without aluminum overlay is same as next year (64). Serial number beginning with 63V is correct for 1963. Respectfully submitted by previous owner of a 63 bought when it had 07042 miles ... took top GT Hawk class 1974 SDC Show in South Bend. Also owned (later) an R1 64 GT Hawk. Thanks.
