This 1996 BMW 850Ci coupe is finished in Arctic Silver over a grey Nappa leather interior. Power comes from a 5.4-liter V12 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission. The car was initially sold in new New York. The seller states the car has just over 58k miles on the odometer. Equipment includes air conditioning, cruise control, power locks, power windows, power seats, sunroof, and an AM/FM cassette player. This 850i has been regularly maintained at numerous BMW dealerships with replacing tires, front suspension and scheduled maintenance completed. A clean CARFAX report and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name accompanies the sale.
The 850Ci uses a distinct pillarless roof design with fully retracting side windows and finished in the original BMW Arctic Silver (paint code:309) and no accidents or other damage are noted on the included CARFAX report. The exterior is equipped with the original pop up headlamps in working order as well as a sunroof.
Factory BMW BBS program staggered sport wheels are on all four corners. The seller has noted there have been new Continental ExtremeContact tires added within the last year. The front suspension components have been replaced along with a four-wheel alignment during that time.
The interior is upholstered with grey nappa leather with matching door panels. The grey dash and center console are trimmed with black and provide a contrast to the rest of the cabin. Equipment includes power-adjustable and heated front seats with driver-side memory, a power-adjustable steering column, electric windows and mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, and an AM/FM cassette player. The CARFAX report shows the computer module has been replaced and factory reprogrammed by a local BMW dealership.
Instrumentation is anchored by a 190mph speedometer, 5800-RPM redline tachometer with gauges for the coolant temperature and fuel level within the instrumentation cluster. The gauge bezel also shows a digital odometer and gear selector. Seller states the 850Ci has just over 68k original miles.
The 5.4L V12 engine was factory rated from BMW at 322hp and 361 lb-ft of torque on premium fuel. Maintenance records indicate drive belts and battery have been replaced in addition to regularly scheduled maintenance. The 5-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels.
Additional photos of the undercarriage can be viewed in the gallery.
The original window sticker is included in the sale along with the factory literature. The August 2020 CARFAX report notes the service history mentioned above and no accidents or other damage. The car is located in Henderson, Nevada with a clear Illinois title in the seller's name.
The thin a-pillars, no b-pillar, pop up headlights... BMW really did this one right. Still looks good 24 years on!
Love a V12 engine! Just wish it had manual transmission.
