Vehicle Story

This 1979 Chevrolet K10 Bonanza 4x4 pickup is presented with 25,348 original miles and has been owned by the same family since new, undergoing a repaint in 2015 and powered by a numbers-matching 350ci V8 paired with a 3-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. Equipment includes factory air conditioning, a ComfortTilt steering wheel, and full gauges. Finished in two-tone Camel Brown and Neutral Tan over a saddle vinyl interior, this third-generation C/K-Series K10 is now offered in New York with an owner’s manual, a Service Parts Identification sheet, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

The C/K-Series of General Motors pickups were referred to as the Rounded Line beginning in the model year 1973, and in 1979 the front fascia underwent a facelift that incorporated additional chrome. This K10 has a regular cab fleetside body configuration and was resprayed in 2015, reportedly retaining its original steel body with good panel fitment. The exterior offers Bonanza trim, with brightwork for the front and rear bumpers, moldings, side view mirrors, and custom dual polished exhausts exiting below the rear bumper. The interior of the bed is coated in a spray-in bed liner material.

Steel 15” wheels with polished trim rings are wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler 33” raised-white-letter all-terrain tires. Handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes, with discs up and locking hubs up front.

The interior is equipped in Bonanza trim with saddle vinyl bench upholstery and matching materials for the headliner, door panels, and carpeting, all of which are reported to be in good original condition. Amenities include air conditioning and Soft Ray tinted glass. The seller notes that the air conditioning does not blow cold and the original AM radio is not operational.

Instrumentation is framed by a ComfortTilt steering wheel and includes a 100-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for voltage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 25,348 miles, which the seller states is a true original reading.

The numbers-matching small-block 350ci V8 resides in a tidy, original engine bay and has had the catalytic converter deleted. Power is fed to all four wheels via a 3-speed automatic transmission and a 2-speed transfer case.

Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes an owner’s manual and a Service Parts Identification sticker (SPID).

@CGANGI20 – I’d that the true mileage on the truck,? Do you have a car fax on this truck? Does the air conditioning work ? ...

Not sure if you received the reply I just sent it appears this truck has been extremely well cared for I was told that it was in a family since new and it was titled a second time 10 years ago and that individual which I believe to be a family member only drove the vehicle 3,000 miles approximately bringing the total mileage up to the current mileage on the odometer at 25k approximately I am a registered New York State dealer. And have the title from the original state and on the back it shows the chain of mileage which I believe to be accurate but cannot be 100% as I have no way to run a car fax on this vehicle.

@CGANGI20 – I’d that the true mileage on the truck,? Do you have a car fax on this truck? Does the air conditioning work ? ...

Good afternoon, The AC appears to cycle but it is blowing warm air I have also been told that it's been converted to 134a but have not attempted to refill it I believe this to be the issue but cannot be totally certain but it does appear to cycle on and blow air. I'm a registered dealer in upstate New York and this is how I acquired the vehicle I can only go by what's on the back of the title. I was told that it was in the same family since new and certainly does appear to look that way the last person that retitled that was 10 years ago and they only drove it 3,000 miles bringing the total up to approximately 25k for miles I believe this to be accurate just by the appearance of the truck it was extremely well cared for and it certainly looks that way I am not able to pull a Carfax on this vehicle because of the characters in the VIN. Thank you for your question good luck bidding

@TimothyBush – So the AC doesn’t work, do you know the issues? Radio doesn’t work, what’s the issue? Was it your grandpa’s or dads? How do you know about actual 25,000 miles? ...

Good morning Timothy, I do not know exactly why the AC doesn't work I'm told it's been converted to 134a so it probably needs a charge but I don't know that to be certain it does run everything seems to be functioning but it's blowing warm air. As far as the radio no I do not know why it does not work it is the original AM radio I don't know if it's just disconnected or what the story is it's original so I have not tampered with it. It is not a family members of mine I am a dealer in upstate New York. That is how I acquired the vehicle and how I am selling it. I was told it was in the family since new in the last time it was retitled was 10 years ago and that person apparently only drove the vehicle 3000 miles. I can only go by what is on the back of the title. I believe it to be accurate but cannot be certain.
