1971 Chevrolet Corvette 454/365 Convertible 4-Speed

This 1971 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is a numbers-matching big-block LS5 454ci V8-powered convertible that sends power to the rear through a similarly numbers-matching 4-speed manual transmission. The seller has owned this C3 for 24 years and is accompanying the sale with documentation and records, including receipts covering a fuel pump and fuel filter change in July 2021. Finished in yellow with a replacement black cloth retractable top over a reupholstered black vinyl interior, this C3 Corvette is now offered with the aforementioned documentation and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.

The third-generation Corvette debuted in the model year 1970 with revised vented fenders, egg crate grilles, and larger squared directional lamps up front. This example from the subsequent year retains its customary pop-up headlamps and was repainted yellow in the mid-1990s, accompanied by a matching removable hardtop as well as a retractable black cloth soft top with a plastic rear window. The front and rear bumpers are chrome-finished, as are other trim elements around the exterior, and there are rectangular dual exhaust outlets.

Steel 15” Rallye wheels with polished center caps and trim rings are mounted to Firestone Firehawk raised-white-letter tires, and handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes. The vehicle also comes with a color-matched removable hardtop.

The interior is trimmed with reupholstered black vinyl bucket seats, color-matched to the door panels, dash, center console, and carpeting. The door panels are accented in wood veneer, and additional amenities include power windows and functional factory air conditioning.

Instrumentation includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage located at the top of the center stack. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 48k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The numbers-matching big-block 454ci LS5 V8 was rated at 365 horsepower from the factory, and the seller states that the fuel pump and fuel filter were changed in July 2021. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission and a positraction rear axle.
