3k-Mile 2007 Ford Mustang Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition

This 2007 Saleen Parnelli Jones edition Ford Mustang is #51 of the 500 cars produced to honor Parnelli Jones winning the 1970 Trans-American Championship behind the wheel of a Mustang Boss 302. It incorporates several visual elements that pay homage to the race car, including an orange paint job with black stripes on the hood and sides, the number 15 on the hood and doors, and a black rear wing.  The interior continues the color scheme with black seats with orange inserts. The dashboard features the signatures of Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones. The "Shaker" scoop that rises out of the hood is attached to a 302ci V8 engine equipped with forged aluminum pistons and forged steel connecting rods and crankshaft. That puts its power to the road through a 5-speed manual transmission and a set of 19-inch wheels. This limited-production Saleen Mustang is available now with its original window sticker and specifications sheet.

Like the race car that inspired it, this Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition Mustang wears orange paint, black accents, and the number 15 in graphics on its hood and doors. The front end features a Mustang emblem set against a chrome-ringed black grille equipped with round auxiliary lights. The hood has hood pins up front, a black stripe down the center, and a "Shaker" scoop over the engine. More black stripes run down the front fenders and across the lower body sides. Body-color panels cover the rear side windows. The tires house a set of 19-inch wheels with Saleen Parnelli Jones Edition center caps.

The rear windshield is outfitted with black louvers which match the color of the rear wing. Like the grille, the taillights and rear trim panel are surrounded by a strip of chrome. A pair of rounded stainless steel exhaust finishers protrude below the rear bumper.

Inside, this Saleen Mustang features black leather seats with contrast stitching and orange inserts. The trim panel between the center climate control vents has the signatures of Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones on it. Parnelli Jones-specific accents can be found on the door sills, 3-spoke steering wheel, metallic shift knob, 180-mph speedometer, and seats. Instrumentation comes in the form of a tachometer, trip computer, odometer that shows 2,994.8 miles, and auxiliary gauges that display the oil pressure and oil temperature. 

Amenities include remote keyless entry; 6-way power for the driver's seat; tilt steering wheel; power windows, locks, and trunk; and Shaker 500 stereo system.

Under the "Shaker" hood scoop is a 302ci V8 that features upgrades such as a Saleen Powerflash performance calibration, ported aluminum heads, performance camshafts, forged aluminum pistons, and forged steel connecting rods and crankshaft. According to the window sticker, this engine produces 400 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. That is processed by a 5-speed manual transmission and a rear differential with 3.73:1 gearing.
