This 1940 Chevrolet Model KC pickup was the recipient of a professional restoration which features many of its original sheet metal body components and has since been driven less than 200 miles. Power is provided by a refurbished 325ci inline-6 mated to the original 4-speed manual transmission and rear end with upgraded 3.55:1 gearing for improved highway driving. The seller reports that there were no expenses spared throughout the 5-year restoration process and that all records and receipts have been kept to be included in the sale along with a clean Florida title in the seller's name.
The truck is believed to be from Nevada originally and was professionally refinished in Apple Green over the original black fenders and running boards with a yellow accented body line running around the hood and cab. Exterior features include a split-pane windshield with built-in venting, wood-slatted truck bed, and a mixture of chrome and stainless brightwork all around.
Steering is a manual worm-and-sector assembly while braking is managed by way of mechanical hydraulic 11-inch drums on all four corners. Blackwall tires are fitted over black steel wheels which come dressed in a set of chrome Chevrolet branded hubcaps.
The interior is outfitted in brown vinyl upholstery with contrasting tan lap belts, dash, and door panels accented by black flooring and steering wheel. All parts throughout the truck are described as new or refurbished down to the springs in the bench seating and the floor-mounted shifter.
Standard instrumentation for the model year is equipped with the inclusion of a 100-mph speedometer and dials for oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature and battery voltage. The odometer reads 145 miles of use since the completion of the restoration.
The louvered hood opening reveals and 1960 Chevrolet sourced 235ci inline-6 paired with the original 4-speed manual transmission. The engine and transmission were professionally refurbished by a machine shop complete with all new internals, a fresh air cleaner and a new single-barrel carburetor. The seller notes everything is working properly with the exception of one small leak coming from the front of the transmission.
The rear axle was converted to a ring and pinion system with 3.55:1 gearing for improved highway drivability. Additional photos of the completed truck along with photos while under restoration have been made available for viewing in the gallery.
