Vehicle Story

This 1953 Packard Henney is a four-door limousine with expanded interior dimensions, whitewall tires, generous chrome trim, and luxurious appointments for its time. Power for this limited-edition model comes from a 327ci flathead straight-8 backed by a column-shifted 2-speed Ultramatic automatic transmission. This limousine was reportedly assembled as production number 66 in a 100-unit series and spent roughly 30 years in storage before being refurbished to show-ready roadworthiness. Finished in Dark Green over a tan cloth interior, this limousine is now offered with a factory service manual and a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.

The Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit rolled out a redesigned suite of luxury cars in 1953, with this four-door limousine having been refinished in Dark Green over an original rust-free body. Originally customized as part of a 100-unit production run, this car spent about three decades in storage before undergoing cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment. The exterior is adorned with good-condition brightwork for the hood ornament, moldings, bumpers, badging, and more. The passenger front fender has a crease as illustrated in the photo carousel.

Steel wheels with full polished covers are mounted to wide whitewall tires. Recent chassis work included replacement of the wheel cylinders.

The extended-wheelbase interior offers augmented legroom in the rear passenger compartment and is fitted with tan cloth bench seating for the front and rear, color-matched to the door panels, dash, and dark brown carpeting. The interior features chrome accent trim, a roll-up divider window, a push-button radio, and a heater.

Instrumentation is held within an oval cluster of three circular gauges and includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. Additional warning lights are present for oil pressure and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 42k miles.

The Thunderbolt 327ci flathead straight-8 was rated at 180 horsepower when new and received fresh fluids. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 2-speed Ultramatic automatic transmission featuring a lockup torque converter.

Photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes a 1951-54 Packard factory service manual.

@Onlyronz8 – Sorry a couple of last questions , do you have the original air cleaner and it looks like it has been having some issues with the radiator cooling system , can you give me some more information on what might be happening here. Thanks once again. ...

Dont have the air cleaner, looked for it in the barn where the car was stored and could not find it. The coiling system picture was how I took it fresh out of the barn, I since flushed the system and put a new radiator cap on it, since the gasket was dry and was leaking.

Yes Mileage is Genuine, the same mileage is on the title. Dont really have documented history, the previous owner passed away and this was in the barn and sold to settle the estate.
