This 2006 BMW M3 two-door coupe has been driven 64,543 miles since new and is equipped with the Competition Package, which includes compound brakes, cross-drilled rotors, lightweight alloy wheels, aluminum interior trim, and an M-Sport steering wheel. Power for this E46 comes from a 3.2-liter S54 inline-6 paired with a six-speed Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG). This third-generation M3 was originally sold in June of its model year by BMW of Orland Park, Illinois, where it remained until being relocated in 2018 and subsequently housed in climate-controlled storage as part of a private collection. Finished in Alpine White over a black Nappa leather interior, this M3 is now offered with an extra set of factory wheels with Michelin tires, two keys, owner’s booklets, service records, a handwritten fuel log, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Arizona title.
The M3 was first launched in 1986 as a performance-focused variant of the BMW 3-Series, and as of the model year 2000, the E46 chassis was adopted for the model’s third generation. This M3 two-door coupe is a final-year example and is painted Alpine White (300) with exterior modifications. Lighting is provided by xenon headlamps and fog lamps, and notable features include fender vents with M3 logos, color-matched side-view mirrors, a trunk-mounted lip spoiler, and quad-outlet exhaust at the rear.
Black-finished 19” wheels with BMW center caps are wrapped in staggered-width Yokohama tires, sized 225/40 up front and 255/35 in the rear. Handling is aided by a Dynamic Stability Control system, and steering is power-assisted and speed-sensitive. The four-wheel disc brake rotors are cross-drilled, and the brake fluid was changed in 2018.
The interior is upholstered with power-adjustable, memory-equipped, black Nappa leather bucket seats matched to the door panels, carpeting, headliner, and dash. The remainder of the interior is finished in similar hues, with aluminum trim throughout and M3-branded sill protection. Power options include a glass sunroof, automatic climate control, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, and a rear sunblind. Additional conveniences are provided by Park Distance Control (PDC), a navigation system, and a Hi-Fi Harman Kardon audio system with a 6-disc in-dash CD.
Instrumentation is framed by an M3-branded leather-wrapped steering wheel and includes a 185-mph speedometer, a 9k-rpm tachometer with a variable redline, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer shows 64,543 miles, which the selling dealer asserts is a true reading.
The 3.2-liter 24-valve S54 inline-6 is equipped with double-VANOS variable-valve timing and carried a factory rating of 333 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque when new. The vehicle was serviced by BMW North Scottsdale in April 2020 and the appointment included a maintenance inspection and repair to the power steering system. Additional maintenance per the service records includes a differential service, transmission service, power steering fluid change, a valve adjustment, and spark plug replacement in 2018. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a 6-speed SMG and a limited-slip differential.
The CARFAX report shows three owners from new and no history of accidents or damage. Service records, a handwritten log, owner's booklets, and more will go with the car.
The sale also includes an extra set of factory wheels with Michelin tires and two keys.
