This Factory Five Hot Rod two-door replicates a 1932-era design theme using a full component kit and is presented as an award-winning custom build, drawing power from a crate 302ci V8 paired with a rebuilt 3-speed C4 automatic transmission. The drivetrain benefits from performance enhancements including an Edelbrock intake, a Holley carburetor, and a transmission cooler, while the interior offers Vintage Air climate control and engine-turned aluminum trim. The seller has owned the vehicle for four years and added less than 350 miles during that timeframe. Finished in tri-tone Black Red Metallic, and Silver over a black leather interior, this hot rod is now offered with build documentation and a clear Montana title in the seller’s name.
This hot rod originated as a complete component kit from Factory Five Racing, founded in 1995 and located in Wareham, Massachusetts. The body rides on a tube chassis and was painted in 2017 with a tri-tone color scheme using Black, Red Metallic, and Silver, topped by multiple coats of clear coat for optimal gloss. Exterior features engine bay cutouts, full fenders, running boards, all aluminum grille, and accent trim, and a dual exhaust system at the rear. The fit and finish of the exterior are described as being good, and this hot rod has achieved high honors at car shows. The seller notes that there are no windshield wipers as this vehicle was engineered for show purposes exclusively.
American Racing five-spoke Torq-Thrust M wheels have been color-matched to the silver areas of the body and are mounted to BFGoodrich G-Force Sport C2 tires.
The interior is fitted with black leather bucket seating for two, with matching door panels, a custom headliner, and black carpeting. The dash is accented in engine-turned aluminum, and the steering wheel is a custom banjo unit. Amenities include power windows, a Vintage Air A/C system, an under-dash AM/FM/CD audio system, and a carpeted trunk.
Instrumentation includes aftermarket gauges for the 120-mph speedometer, 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. A digital odometer is included in the cluster and the chassis is the same age as the rest of the car.
The crate-sourced 302ci V8 is upgraded with an Edelbrock aluminum intake, a Holley carburetor, and an electronic distributor. The motor was bored, honed, and surface decked. The build also included a new camshaft, resurfaced heads, hardened exhaust seats, high-performance springs, new valves and guides, oversized pistons and rings, a heavy-duty timing set, brass expansion plugs, oversized main and rod bearings, and the installation of a transmission cooler. The exhaust system is full-length stainless steel, and the engine bay is accented in chrome dress-up items throughout. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a rebuilt 3-speed C4 automatic transmission which received replacement plates, bushings, thrust washers, seals, gaskets, and other service items.
The sale includes build documentation.
