Vehicle Story

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro is a restored sports coupe with Z/28 equipment, an Edelbrock carburetor, Hedman headers, and redline tires powered by a Turbo Fire 302ci V8 paired with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission. This first-generation muscle car is a straight, rust-free example with glossy exterior finishes, a refurbished suspension, and reupholstered interior trim with a full center console and custom embroidered floor mats. Finished in black with dual white accent stripes over the hood and trunk over a reupholstered black vinyl interior, this first-generation Camaro is now offered with a clear California title in the seller’s name.

The Camaro first debuted for the 1967 model year on the General Motors F-body platform, offered in two-door hardtop and convertible body styles. Cosmetic updates were applied in 1968 to the marker lights and vent windows, and the 1969 model received all-new sheet metal except for the hood and the trunk lid. This two-door hardtop example from that year is outfitted in Z/28 trim and was repainted in black, contrasted by dual white accent stripes over the hood and the trunk. Brightwork is corrosion-free for the bumpers, moldings, and badging, and the body features a lower front air dam, fog lamps, and an integrated trunk spoiler. The seller has provided up-close imaging of specific cosmetic blemishes, including some paint checking on certain panels.

Steel 15” Rallye wheels with polished Bowtie-branded caps and bright trim rings are wrapped in newer BFGoodrich redline tires. Steering is power-assisted, and the suspension received upgrades new shock absorbers as well as tubular front upper and lower A-arms.

The interior is trimmed with reupholstered black vinyl fold-forward bucket seating and replacement door panels, color-matched to the center console, lap belts, dash, headliner, carpeting, and Z/28-embroidered floor mats. The interior is accented with woodgrain veneer on the console and dash, a Hurst shift lever with a cue-ball knob, a passenger side grab-handle, and a modern Kenwood AM/FM/CD stereo with replacement speakers. The trunk is fully lined in black splatter paint.

Instrumentation provides a 120-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary white-faced gauges at the top of the center console for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 76k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The 302ci V8 was serviced within the last six months, equipped with a new Edelbrock carburetor, Hedman headers, and replacement fluids. This powertrain was rated at 290 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque from the factory, featuring 11:1 compression, forged pistons, and a solid lifter camshaft. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Muncie 4-speed manual transmission and an upgraded rear end.
