This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette is one of 25,407 cars built during the final production year of the third-generation Corvette, which came out for the1968 model year. It received new Porpoise Gray paint in 2020 and has matching T-tops. According to the current owner who's had it for the past year, it has its original 350ci V8 with Cross-Fire Injection and 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive 4th gear. This 75K-mile C3 Corvette is located in Wallingford, Connecticut and available now with certain service records and a clear title in the seller's name.
Repainted in a color the seller identifies as Porpoise Gray in 2020, the body features pop-up headlights, vented front fenders with "cross-fire injection" badging, body-color T-tops, a glass hatch, and an integrated rear spoiler. The "rally" wheels are set inside of Dunlop G/T Qualifier tires.
Chevrolet redesigned the Corvette's badge, which has a red flag with a Chevrolet bow tie logo on the left and a black and white checkered flag on the right, for the 1982 model year. This car has two of those badges surrounded by a ring that reads "Corvette Collector Edition" - one between the headlights and the other in front of the glass rear hatch. The rear shocks are reported to have been replaced in the spring of 2020.
Dressed in dark blue, the interior features dual bucket seats, a three-spoke steering wheel, and a console-mounted shifter and parking brake. In place of the factory sound system is a Pioneer CD head unit with USB compatibility and a new 1000-watt Audison amplifier and speakers, according to the seller.
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, 7,000-rpm tachometer, analog clock, and gauges for the oil pressure, battery voltage, and coolant temperature. The fuel level gauge is reportedly nonfunctional and although the A/C does work, the current owner recommends recharging it. The seller reports also report that the original rear cargo shade functions.
The 1982 Corvette came out of the Bowling Green, Kentucky assembly plant with the combination of a 200-horsepower 350ci V8 with "Cross-Fire" fuel injection consisting of dual throttle-body fuel injectors and a 4-speed automatic transmission. According to the seller, this Corvette has its original engine and 75,000 miles on its odometer. They also note a small fluid leak around the transmission pan gasket. A oil change was performed on the car in the Spring of 2020.
