1955 Buick Roadmaster

This 1955 Roadmaster Riviera 76R Coupe retains the original Nailhead 90-degree V8 engine with 322 cubic inches of displacement and variable-pitch Dynaflow transmission. The interior upholstery and headliner have been replaced, and the exterior has been repainted in a factory-correct white over red color scheme. Features include power windows, an AutoSound radio, power steering and power brakes. Located in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, this Buick is being offered with a clean Wisconsin title in the seller's name.

The exterior paint has been redone in a two-tone Cherokee Red and Dover White color selection that is true to the year of release. The original gold-colored hood ornament, branding emblems, and lettering are in place, as well as the original hubcaps. The front portion has newly installed VentiPorts on either side of the hood and the original Dagmar accented flat mesh grille.

The Buick features upper and lower side trim and chrome bumpers. The car rides on red-painted steel wheels with factory hubcaps, all wrapped in wide whitewall tires.

The interior has been replaced to match the two-tone exterior with a combination of red cloth and white vinyl bench seats for 5, with the addition of black floor mats over the red carpeting. A new headliner was also installed along with an AutoSound radio.

The dash is black overall and the instrument display was designed with an all-metal aesthetic, with a centrally located speedometer and odometer, which are both reported to have issues on this particular vehicle. The other gauges include engine temperature, amperage, oil pressure, and fuel level. Interior controls include lights, wiper, ignition, heater, defroster, and ventilator controls.

The original 322CI Nailhead V8 was factory rated at 236 horsepower and connects to the stock variable-pitch Dynaflow transmission. Recent work includes a new carburetor, new fuel pump and new gas tank.

The wheelbase for this model comes to 127 inches with an X-frame chassis. Additional images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.

A set of all-new glass will come with this car but will not be installed at the time of purchase. This Buick was given an oil change in early 2021, and the owner has some service records that will be included with the sale.  Items replaced during the sellers ownership include the carburetor, springs, fuel pump, gas tank, starter, and radio.
