1988 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible

This 1988 Chevrolet Corvette is one of the 7,407 convertibles built for the 1988 model year and comes finished in its original brown paint with a black fabric top over a black leather interior equipped with woodgrain trim, air conditioning, and an aftermarket sound system. Power is supplied by the reportedly original 5.7-liter V8 and sent to the road through an automatic transmission and the rear wheels. Available now, this garage-kept C4 Corvette convertible passed a California smog check in September of 2021 and comes with a service manual, records, two sets of keys, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear title in the seller's name.

According to the current owner, the car comes in its original brown paint, which is topped with a black fabric convertible roof with a plastic rear window. Exterior features include pop-up headlights, turn signals and foglights integrated into the lower front fascia, side marker lights, vented front fenders, black trim around the perimeter of the vehicle, dual round taillights, and four exhaust finishers below the rear bumper. The 17-inch aftermarket chrome wheels frame disc brakes and are set inside of reportedly new BFGoodrich g-Force Sport tires.

The cabin is furnished with Corvette-branded door sill plates, black carpeting, black floormats with Corvette logos, black leather bucket seats with power adjustment, and black door panels. Aftermarket woodgrain trim accents the door panels, 2-spoke steering wheel, dashboard, and center console. Equipment includes power locks and windows, a tilt/telescoping steering column, and an aftermarket Kenwood audio head unit. According to the seller, the air conditioning functions and is currently having its refrigerant recharged.

The woodgrain trim fascia plate on the dashboard surrounds a set of digital gauges that includes an 85-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, and a multi-information display that shows the fuel level and can be configured to show the oil pressure or oil temperature, coolant temperature or battery voltage, driving range or trip odometer, and instant fuel rate or average fuel economy. The analog odometer reads 65K miles.

Under the front-hinged hood is the reportedly original 5.7-liter V8 with Tuned Port Injection that was factory rated to produce 245 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque. It comes connected to an aftermarket BBK throttle body and an automatic transmission. The seller reports the oil and oil filter have been changed every 4K miles and that the engine has no leaks or mechanical issues. As shown on the CARFAX report, the fuel pump and filter, timing chain, and throttle cable were changed in 2017 and the oil pressure sender/switch was replaced in 2019.
