This 1982 Mercedes-Benz 300D turbodiesel sedan is finished in a recent light blue repaint over a dark blue interior and features new shocks, CV axles, windshield seals, window scrapers, wipers, and more. Power comes from a completely rebuilt 3.0-liter I5 turbodiesel engine equipped with several new parts, which range from the main and connecting rod bearings to the front and rear main seals. Equipment includes a new power antenna, an aftermarket Sony head unit, and a 4-speed automatic transmission. Available now, this W123-series Mercedes-Benz sedan comes with a clean CARFAX report and a clear Washington State title in the seller's name.
The W123 series came out for the 1977 model year with horizontally oriented headlights, corner front turn signals, pull-to-open door handles, and wider ribbed taillights than the preceding W114/W115 models. The car comes dressed in new light blue paint accented with brightwork around the grille and greenhouse glass, on the bumpers, along the body sides, and across the rear end.
The seller reports that both outside and inside windshield seals have been replaced, as have the outside rubber window scrapers for all four doors and electric antenna. The tires are said to be in excellent condition and a full-size spare is housed in the trunk.
The cabin is trimmed in dark blue carpeting, seats, headliner, and door panels, all of which are reported to be in very good condition. Woodgrain accents can be found on the dashboard and center console. The list of equipment includes a black 4-spoke steering wheel, an aftermarket Sony head unit wired to "good" speakers, and a console-mounted shifter. Per the seller, there are some cracks in the dash, but the cover hides them from view.
The dashboard is topped with a fabric cover and houses a 125-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer, an odometer showing 249,237 miles, and a clock along with gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. All instruments, the heater, and the defroster operate as they should, but the air conditioning unit needs recharging.
The 3.0-liter inline-5 turbodiesel has been completely rebuilt and sends power to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic and the rear wheels. According to the current owner, the engine is equipped with a reconditioned cylinder head, along with new motor and transmission mounts, main and connecting rod bearings, piston rings, front and rear main seals, gaskets, seals, and new filters and fluids.
All new shocks and CV axles are fitted.
Owner's books will go with the sale, and a cold start and blow-by video is available below
@rusty – I would not have any hesitation to do so; however, given that the engine only has 200 miles on it, I would go easy on her. Otherwise, all fluids are topped off, the tire are good, etc. ...
Right, break in period another 200K
@1800Driver – Rusty - so it sounds like you wouldn't have a problem driving this a distance(road trip a couple of thousand miles) in it's current condition. ...

@1800Driver – Once Paid for in full is it possible for the seller to hold onto the car for a week or two if needed? ...
No problem holding the car for a week or two, if needed.
@1800Driver – What caused the need for an engine rebuild? How many miles ago did it take place? is the rebuild guaranteed? ...
The engine work was performed by my son, who is a professionally-trained Mercedes-Benz diesel mechanic and who has previously installed new or rebuilt engines in 8 Mercedes for me. The original engine on this car was rebuilt due to low compression and the work was done approximately 200 miles ago. I cannot confirm whether the work can be guaranteed. There is no warranty implied or otherwise, as far as I know.
Once Paid for in full is it possible for the seller to hold onto the car for a week or two if needed?
