Vehicle Story

This 1979 GMC Suburban is a rust-free SUV that was acquired by the seller less than three years ago with fewer than 89K reportedly original miles. It comes finished in two-tone yellow and white over a reupholstered matching cloth interior equipped with a repaired air conditioning system. Power is provided by a 454ci V8 paired with an automatic transmission, both of which are reported to be original. This seventh-generation Suburban is now offered with service documentation, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name

The rust-free body remains in its original color combination of two-tone yellow and white with aluminum side molding. Additional features include new exterior mirrors, a new Flowmaster exhaust system, and a new GMC grille emblem.

Wrapped in Yokohama Geolandar tires, the 17-inch wheels are painted yellow and wear baby moon hubcaps with polished lips.

The interior is furnished with original tan cloth upholstery that covers all three rows of bench seats with matching vinyl door panels, a dash pad, and flooring with new mats. Equipment includes manual windows, air conditioning, new door sill plates, front door utility pockets, and a spare wheel/tire in the cargo compartment.

Instrumentation is framed by a wood-rimmed steering wheel and consists of a 100-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads approximately 87,605 miles, which are original per the seller who added 1,569 of them during their ownership.

The big-block 454ci V8 is equipped with a rebuilt 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. Maintenance performed by the seller includes replacement of the fuel pump and fuel lines.

Recent upgrades include new front spindles and front disc brakes, machined rotors, packed bearings, and new rear brakes, including the shoes, wheel cylinders, and drums.
