Vehicle Story

This 1974 Volkswagen Super Beetle is a custom resto-mod that has been with the seller for 16 years, and driven fewer than 600 miles on a replacement drivetrain. Finished in blue over two-tone interior, the powertrain received a 4 speed GEM crate motor that sends power to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. Everything was updated on the car including a new bearing kit with double thrust cam, 90.5 balanced pistons and cylinders, and an all-new AM FM radio and speakers. This Beetle is now offered with an owner's manual, car cover, nose bra, and a clear Arkansas title.

This Beetle's refurbishment was completed before 2010 and retains its original body panels, trunk lid, and fenders. Exterior features include chrome bumpers front and rear, as well as chrome exterior mirrors, factory running boards, nose bra, and decorative trim along the body sides.

Factory 15” steel wheels are finished in silver and mounted to Pirelli P400-series tires on all four corners. The car retains the factory style suspension and braking systems.

The interior features blue cloth seats with white inserts and the color scheme continues on the door panels. A new aftermarket Alpine stereo head unit and speakers were added, and the shifter for the manual transmission is mounted to the transmission tunnel and equipped with a black vinyl shift boot.

A two-spoke steering wheel frames the all-new round chrome-rimmed 120-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, a fuel gauge, and an oil pressure gauge. The replacement five-digit mechanical odometer reads approximately 517 miles, which the seller states is the mileage since restoration. True mileage on the chassis is unknown. The seller also states that the speedometer is not currently working.

Power is transferred from a 4 speed GEM crate motor to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transaxle.

Photos showing the underside are available in the gallery.

the sale includes a nose bra, full car cover and a owners manual.
