This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette is finished in Rally Red over black vinyl interior. Originally finished in Tuxedo Black from the factory, this C2 was refinished to its current color when the current seller acquired the car. Powered by a 327ci V8 engine, power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, brakes, air conditioning, vintage-look modern radio, aluminum radiator, and side exhaust. Showing just over 57K miles on the odometer, 5K miles have been added by the seller in their 10 years of ownership. Now offered with its original factory literature, limited records, a fitted body cover, and a wired-in battery tender, this C2 Corvette carries a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The Corvette left the factory originally finished in Tuxedo Black but was refinished to Rally Red when the seller acquired the car. However, the standard of work was not to their liking and they had the body taken down and refinished a second time not long after receiving the car back. Notable design features of the C2 Corvette include split front and rear chrome bumpers, pop-up headlights, and wrap-around rear glass. All glass was replaced by the seller and an aftermarket set of side exhaust pipes with factory style cover were added.
Reproduction 15” multi-spoke wheels with knock-off spinners are wrapped in BF Goodrich redline tires sized 215/70. The tires were installed 18 months ago and have less than 500 miles on them. Additionally, the braking system has been recently upgraded with power-assisted discs in the front.
The interior is features black vinyl bucket seats with cloth inserts, along with matching door panels and carpets. A factory center console is mounted between the seats and houses the shift lever for the automatic transmission as well as switches for the power window. A new vintage-look radio with auxiliary input was installed in the factory location, just below the analog clock, which is said to be original to the car. Controls for the air conditioning system were added to the side of the center stack, along with ducts.
The factory three-spoke steering wheel is equipped with a lace-up cover and features the Corvette logo in the center. The gauge cluster retains all the factory instrumentation including a 7k rpm tachometer and 160mph speedometer, as well as gauges for fuel, voltage, oil pressure, and temperature. The five-digit analog odometer reads just over 57K miles, 5k of which have been added by the seller in 10 years of ownership.
The car retains its original, matching numbers 327ci V8 engine, originally rated at 300 horsepower from the factory. A Demon carburetor system was added along with an aftermarket intake manifold, aluminum radiator, MSD ignition system and complete rewire of the electrical system. The engine bay fuel lines have been replaced with blue anodized pieces, and the original valve covers and exhaust manifolds are retained. Originally equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission from the factory, a 3-speed automatic transmission, was installed by Hughes Performance in Phoenix, AZ.
