This custom-built Batmobile replica was assembled in 2019 and rides on underpinnings from a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette, displaying a completely modified exterior with a revised front fascia, new glass, tailfins, and an entirely reworked jet booster-inspired rear end. A General Motors L98 350ci V8 sends power to the rear by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission and the powertrain recently received service to the fluids, cooling system, battery, and fuel injection system. The seller has owned the vehicle for three years and describes it as a solid running and driving example, retaining a largely original Corvette interior dressed in accessories inspired by the TV show. Finished in black with orange paint and striping over a black vinyl interior, this Batmobile C4 Corvette is now offered service records, a CARFAX report, and a reconstructed Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.
The Batman superhero was born as a creation of DC Comics in the late 1930s, and in the mid-1960s became the leading subject of a TV series. Along with the leading character in the show debuted a George Barris-built custom two-seat car dubbed the Batmobile. This 1966 Batmobile replica is built around a C4 1985 Chevrolet Corvette and was assembled by Batrodz LLC, a restoration garage in Riverhead, New York specializing in custom hot rods. The bodywork features a custom nose, fender flares, tailfins, and rounded glass panels surrounding the cockpit. The gloss black paint was resprayed in 2019 over a rust-free body, and additional features include a power-operated hood and trunk, functional doors, a jet booster-inspired rear end with dual parachutes, and a replacement exhaust system.
Five-spoke polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in newer tires. The ventilated and cross-drilled brake rotors were replaced within the last 1,000 miles.
The two-seat interior retains its Corvette-derived equipment including black vinyl bucket seats with matching door panels, dash, and carpeting. Cosmetic updates have been applied to complete the Batmobile look including a steering wheel logo, an inoperable accessory phone, and a series of dash-mounted lights and buttons for visual appeal. Features include a diamond plate dress-up panel at the passenger side, a newer Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit, and a center console with storage.
Instrumentation includes a digital cluster with an 85-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 69k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The L98 350ci V8 was rated at 230 horsepower and has been dressed in Batmobile-themed accents. Service was carried out including an oil change in late 2020, and in the last 1,000 miles, additional maintenance was performed with the hoses, water pump, fuel injection system, and battery. The rear-mounted aluminum 16-gallon fuel tank is new. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 4-speed automatic transmission.
The sale includes service records. The vehicle is titled as a 1985 Chevrolet Corvette
