This 1975 Triumph Spitfire 1500 is a two-seat British roadster that shows only 66,750 miles. The 1500cc inline-4 is in good running condition and sends power to the rear end through a 4-speed manual transmission. A recent mechanical refurbishment included the replacement of the valve cover gasket, brake and clutch master cylinders, battery, and carburetor. With new rotors and calipers, rear brake shoes, and electronic ignition, this Spitfire is now offered with a tonneau cover, receipts, and a current New Hampshire registration in the seller’s name.
This Spitfire is finished in blue and has a black cloth retractable top with a plastic rear window. According to the seller, the car recently received a new side mirror, wheel trim rings, and exterior door handles. Exterior features consist of chrome bumpers with black guards and a tonneau cover. A separate hard top is included with the sale.
The 13-inch steel wheels wear Triumph-branded center caps and are wrapped in new tires.
The two-seat interior is upholstered in black vinyl with color-matching door panels, center armrest, and dash. The face of the dash wears a woodgrain applique; additional amenities include a push-button radio and a vinyl cover for the trunk-mounted spare tire. According to the seller, the original carpet shows wear and will need to be replaced.
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer currently reads 66,750 miles, though true chassis mileage is unknown. The seller states that the fuel sending unit failed and adds that a new speedometer cable is needed.
The carbureted 1500cc inline-4 runs well, though the seller states that the car sat for a long time prior to his purchase. Upgrades include an electronic ignition, a rebuilt carburetor, and a new valve cover gasket and battery. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission. A tune-up was completed in July of 2021.
