This 1978 Corvette coupe was restored under previous ownership, which involved a repaint in the factory-correct Yellow and the installation of a Vortec V8 crate engine. The Brown Leather interior is reportedly original and features a new tachometer, a Delco radio, a CB radio, and an 8-track tape player. The 350ci engine is connected to headers and a three-speed automatic, which sends power to the rear wheels. Hardware installed by the selling dealer during their one month with the car includes a new master cylinder, water pump, and brake hardware. Available now, this C3 Corvette comes with service records, receipts, and a clear title.
As the VIN and trim tags indicate, the car left Chevrolet's St. Louis, Missouri factory with Yellow paint (52). It was reportedly resprayed by its previous owner in its factory-correct color. Features include pop-up headlights, front and rear bumperettes, black stripes with the name "Corvette" in them on the center hood bulge, body-color T-tops, quad round taillights, and dual exhaust finishers. Badges commemorating the Corvette's 25th anniversary are located at both ends of the car. Eight-slot wheels are surrounded by Primewell Sport PS860 tires with white sidewall lettering.
Pictures in the photo carousel to the right show an uneven panel gap between the driver-side front fender and door, a space between the back of the car and the rear fascia, cracked and chipped paint on the front end, blemishes on the rear fenders, and an imperfection in the paint on the driver-side T-top panel.
According to the selling dealer, the car still has its original Dark Brown leather (692) interior, which is equipped with the original 8-track tape player and a CB radio. Other features include power windows, a Delco radio, a console-mounted automatic shifter, and storage compartments in the carpeted area behind the bucket seats. Per the seller, the air conditioning was removed from the car.
In addition to refreshed exterior styling that featured a fixed fastback rear window, the 1978 Corvette coupe received new square housings for its main gauges and a glove compartment. Instrumentation in this particular car includes a 140-mph speedometer and a 7K-rpm tachometer, which the seller reports is new, behind the steering wheel and a set of auxiliary gauges in the center stack that show readouts for the time, oil pressure, battery voltage, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The odometer reads 12K miles, but true mileage is 112K miles.
The previous owner put a 350ci V8 crate engine and a set of headers in the car in 2013. That sends its power through a three-speed automatic transmission and breathes through Magnaflow mufflers. Since installation, the engine has accrued less than 1,000 miles. During their time with the car, the selling dealer has installed a new master cylinder, water pump, and temperature sensor along with fresh fluids.
Pictures showing the condition of the car's underbody, which reportedly includes new brakes, brake lines, pads, rotors, and calipers installed in October of 2021, are in the photo carousel.
Sale includes service records and receipts.
