Vehicle Story

This 1966 Plymouth Satellite 2-door hardtop has been in the same family since new and comes with its original bodywork, interior, engine, and a new set of BFGoodrich tires. The exterior has a visible patina and a white top over a blue interior equipped with front bucket seats divided by a center console, a rear bench seat, manual windows, power steering, and courtesy lighting. Powered by a 318ci V8 engine connected to an automatic transmission, this first-generation Satellite comes with its original window sticker, license plates, owner's manual, hub caps, spare tire, and jack; uninstalled original sun visors; and a clear title.

The mid-size 1965 Belvedere was based on the Plymouth B platform and offered in a variety of trim levels, including the top-of-the-line Satellite grade. The 1966 model year brought cosmetic revisions consisting of restyled front and rear ends, the removal of the rear fender accents, and redesigned lighting at both ends. This particular Satellite from that year shows signs of patina to its paint and hood and is capped off with a white roof. Features include a hood ornament; badging on the hood, front fenders, base of the hardtop, and trunk lid; and dual exhaust finishers below the rear bumper.

The car rolls on 14-inch wheels with their reportedly original hub caps. According to the seller, those are surrounded by new BFGoodrich tires.

The cabin comes furnished with dark blue carpeting and a coordinating dashboard and 2-spoke steering wheel. The front row features light blue bucket seats separated by a console and matching door panels; the back row offers light blue bench seating. Equipment includes manual windows, power steering, courtesy lighting, and a console-mounted automatic shifter. The dashboard houses a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the coolant temperature, fuel level, alternator, and oil pressure. According to the seller, the odometer currently reads 46,099 miles.

As shown in the photo carousel, the headliner is split and sagging above the two front seats.

This Satellite left Plymouth's Los Angeles, California factory with a 318ci V8 connected to a 2-barrel carburetor and output figures of 230 horsepower and 340 lb-ft of torque. The LA engine reportedly runs perfectly and is connected to a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission that sends the power plant's output to the rear wheels.

Sale includes the car's uninstalled original sun visors and original window sticker, license plates, owner's manual, hub caps, spare tire, and jack.

No rust in the trunk or underneath. It’s a well preserved California car.
