This 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 station wagon is from the first model year of the Fairlane's fifth generation and is described by the selling dealer as largely original. It comes finished in white with a blue roof over a blue vinyl interior that features air conditioning and bench seating in all three rows, including a rear bench that faces out toward the Magic Doorgate. Power is supplied by the reportedly factory-issued 390ci V8, which has been rebuilt and comes paired with a C6 automatic transmission. Available now, this Fairlane wagon comes from the selling dealer a clear title. The car's uninstalled original suspension, wheels and tires, and other parts are included as part of the sale.
The 1966 model year marked the debut of the fifth-generation Fairlane, a vehicle line that included 13 different models with stacked headlights and new GT and XL trim levels. Three station wagons were available, including the Fairlane 500. This particular Fairlane 500 wagon is dressed in white and features a dark blue roof. Brightwork is found on the headlight and taillight surrounds, front and rear bumpers, front grille, mirror caps, greenhouse glass trim, door handles, and rocker panels. Badging includes "FORD" lettering on the hood and Magic Doorgate, which can open like a door or a tailgate, "390" emblems on the bottom of the front fenders, and "FAIRLANE 500" badges on the rear fenders.
The car rides on a set of slotted wheels with domed centers and tires with thick whitewalls. Pictures in the photo carousel show patina on the bumpers and cracking paint above the driver-side rear tire and at the bottom of the Magic Doorgate.
Interior furnishings come in an all-blue color scheme that includes the carpeting, dashboard, door panels, and seating, which consists of forward-facing benches in the first and second rows, and a rear-facing unit in the third row. Metallic trim is located on the dashboard; the door panels are trimmed with woodgrain accents. On the list of equipment is a 2-spoke steering wheel, a column-mounted automatic shifter, manual windows, air conditioning and heat, and a radio. Instrumentation consists of a gear selection indicator behind the steering wheel, a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and an analog clock. A trio of aftermarket Stewart Warner Power gauges below the center HVAC vents shows readouts for the oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage.
Stains in the carpeting and wear to the floor around the third-row bench seat are visible in the photo carousel to the right.
As the Z in this Fairlane's VIN indicates, it left the factory with a 390ci V8. The 4 listed as the transmission code on its trim tag denotes it came equipped with a C6 automatic. According to the selling dealer, the car has its factory 390 FE big-block V8 and a C6 automatic. Since the engine was rebuilt, it has only accumulated 1,000 miles, although the odometer shows a reading of 85,780 miles.
The car's uninstalled original suspension, wheels and tires, and other parts are included as part of the sale.
15K was my limit. Congrats to whomever wins this beauty. Wish I could have her, but I'll snag the next one. Cheers!

@LJ-Rubicon – Gorgeous car. Has this car been resprayed at some point? I don't know that I have ever seen one that is white with a blue top. It looks really good with the blue interior. The additional suspension parts and wheels and tires, will all of that fit in the car for transport? These cars are cavernous, but everything has limitations, so I want to be sure. You listed a few minor cosmetic issues. Is there anything mechanically wrong or any gremlins the buyer should be aware of? ...
The roof was painted and the rest of the car was also resprayed. I believe the spare parts will all fit in the back. It is a turn key car so it's ready to enjoy as-is
@Boobola – So this engine was a rebuild and left stock, no added- ons... ...
Hi there- yes, rebuilt to OEM specs but with slightly warmer cam and I have the OEM carburetor so I think the current carb is slightly larger
