This 1927 Cadillac Series 314 sedan was extracted from the barn of one of its former owners in 2015 and subsequently received cosmetic and mechanical work to make it more presentable and functional. It comes finished in black over a gray cloth interior trimmed with woodgrain accents and equipped with three rows of seats, manual windows, and rear privacy shades. The butterfly hood opens to reveal the reportedly original 314ci L-head V8, which is paired with a distributor and a manual transmission. Recently detailed, this 76K-mile vintage Cadillac is offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
Introduced as a 1926 model, the Cadillac Series 314 was a revised version of the V-63 named after the 314ci displacement of its lighter and more powerful engine. This particular Fisher-bodied 314 sedan was recovered from a barn six years ago and cosmetically and mechanically refreshed. It comes dressed in black with brightwork on its full-width front and 2-piece rear bumpers, external horn, Cadillac-branded headlight rings, grille surround, Boyce Motometer radiator cap, hood spine, side trim, and running boards. Other features include an exterior front sun visor, front fender vents, a yellow 1927 front license plate, and rear spare tire carriers.
The car rides on its reportedly original wooden artillery wheels with silver center caps and a set of thick-whitewall tires.
Cabin furnishings include gray carpeting, three rows of gray cloth seating, and coordinating door panels. Woodgrain trim is found on the front window frames, the rim of the 4-spoke steering wheel, and dashboard. Equipment includes floor-mounted manual shifter and hand brake levers, steering-wheel-mounted controls for various functions, and pull-down rear sunshades. A wood fascia plate surrounds a set of instruments that includes a clock, an odometer showing 76K miles, an ammeter, and gauges for the fuel level and oil pressure.
A recent detailing revealed a body tag that indicates this car was distributed by the Uppercu Cadillac Corporation based in Brooklyn, New York.
According to the selling dealer, the 314ci L-head V8 is original to the car and comes equipped with a 90-degree cross-plane crankshaft, a downdraft carburetor, a distributor, and a manual transmission. The vehicle is reported to be drivable, with functional brakes.
The selling dealer charges a $95 documentation fee.
@IamLostRU – What to say...looked at out of curiosity and a somewhat critical pre- judgement. It is actually absolutely glorious...original and should stay that way. This can clearly be a wonderful prideful car for anyone, albeit without some of the "glamour" additions of others..... Too much garage for me (and I really need to get a T (maybe an A or B) first....and hopefully I can find one that is also true to its time and place. ...
You are absolutely correct, so much originality with this Cadillac. Even when we were cleaning it we were able to uncover the dealer metal tag from the 1920's NY city Cadillac dealership Inglis Uppercu. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inglis_M._Uppercu
