This 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T is a true V-Code Challenger 440 Six Pack car delivered new from the factory in High Impact Plum Crazy purple exterior with white interior. This Challenger is 1 of only 847 Challengers in 1970 to have the 440 Six Pack delivered with a 4 speed manual transmission, and even fewer were produced with white interior. This car is equipped with Track Pack, power steering, rallye gauges, bucket seats with center console, factory AM radio, and factory Hurst pistol grip shifter. The selling dealer acquired the car two years ago and has gone through the car with a complete service. This Challenger is now offered in Wisconsin with it's original factory build sheet, original trim tag, and a clean Florida title.
This car was delivered new in High Impact Plum Crazy (FC7) finish. The restoration and exterior refinishing took place approximately 10 - 15 years ago by a previous owner in California. The Challenger then spent the next 10 years in Florida before being acquired by the selling dealer and relocated to Wisconsin. The raised hood features simulated scoops with "440 Six Pack" badges and polished hood pins. R/T badging can be found in the grille, fenders, and tail panel. Additional features include a polished "pop-top" gas door, polished window trim, and dual exhaust with cutouts in the rear valance.
The Factory 15″ Rallye wheels with beauty rings are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires on all four corners. The braking system consists of manual discs in the front with drums in the rear and a dual reservoir master cylinder.
The interior features high-back bucket seats and a rear bench with white upholstery and black carpeting. The black factory center console houses the Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, and an original style AM/FM radio is mounted in the factory location.
A factory original steering wheel sits in front of a woodgrain dashboard of the Raylle gauges that includes a 150-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, a combination gauge, and a clock. The five-digit odometer shows under 42k miles, with the selling dealer adding 30 miles in the past two years.
This Challenger R/T is an original V-code car, having left the factory with a 440ci V8 capped with three 2-barrel Holley carburetors dubbed the "Six-Pack." Factory rated at 390 horsepower and 490 lb⋅ft of torque it was the most powerful engine available outside of the 426ci HEMI. Only 847 440 Six Pack cars were delivered with a factory manual 4-speed transmission in 1970, with this being one of them. The current engine is correct, but not original to the car. It features the block, heads and air cleaner finished in the correct MOPAR big block orange the "Six-Pack" sticker across the air cleaner. Factory correctness was emphasized during the restoation with the use of correct style hose clamps and hardware.
Equipped with the A33 Track Pack, Power is transmitted to a Dana 60 rear axles through a 4-speed manual transmission. Additional photos of the undercarriage can be seen in the gallery.
A copy of the original factory build sheet is included with the sale, and the factory trim tag still intact.
