This 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a west coast-owned sports coupe that has driven 38,203 miles since new and is powered by a 405-horsepower 5.7-liter LS6 V8 paired with a T-56 6-speed manual transaxle. This C5 was sold new in April of its model year in Salinas, California and has resided in the southwest region long-term, recently being relocated to Arizona where it is offered by the selling dealership. Upgrades include a short-throw shifter, a cold air intake, and a Borla exhaust system. Finished in Electron Blue Metallic over a black leather interior, this Corvette is now offered with a CARFAX report and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The fifth-generation Corvette launched in 1997 on the Y-body platform with a hydroformed box frame, offering 50/50 weight distribution and structural improvements from the previous C4. A high-performance Z06 variant launched in 2001 as a fixed-roof coupe, boasting drivetrain enhancements and weight-savings equipment. This Corvette Z06 from 2003 is coated in Electron Blue Metallic (21U) and described as wearing its original finish with exception of the front and rear bumpers which have been retouched. The body features characteristic pop-up headlights, mesh grille inserts, 50th anniversary badging, and a custom Borla dual exhaust at the rear with quad polished outlets.
Machined aluminum wheels are staggered with 17” up front and 18” in the rear and wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza tires. Stopping power comes from disc brakes, red-finished calipers, and cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. A traction-control system and power steering came as standard C5 equipment, and Z06 models came with the FE4 suspension package for optimized handling.
The interior is trimmed in black leather, outfitted with a power-adjustable driver seat with memory settings and Z06 logos in the upper backrests. Matching materials are furnished for the door panels, dash, carpeting, and embroidered floor mats. Amenities include a short-throw shifter, dual-zone automatic climate control, power windows, power door locks, cruise control, a Bose AM/FM/CD audio system.
Instrumentation is delivered via a 200-mph speedometer, a 7,500-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 38,203 miles which is a true reading supported by the CARFAX report.
The 5.7-liter LS6 V8 had a factory rating of 405 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. An aftermarket cold air intake has been installed, and maintenance per the CARFAX includes a change of the power steering fluid, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and engine oil in April 2017. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a T-56 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential.
The CARFAX report shows an accident dated October 2010 with damage noted to both the front and rear of the vehicle, although no additional details are available. The vehicle passed a California emissions inspection in March 2020.
