Vehicle Story

This garage-kept 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Malibu four-door sedan was produced in Chevrolet's Baltimore, Maryland factory and was restored and repainted 10 years ago. As part of the restoration process, its inline-six engine was rebuilt. The current owner has had the car for the last six months, during which time they have installed a power braking system with front discs and rear drums, a new straight-pipe exhaust system, a new fuel tank, and new shocks and springs. Other features include chrome bumpers, aftermarket wheels, and a set of Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires. Finished in white over a teal and white interior, this first-generation Chevelle is available now with a clear Georgia title in the seller's name.

Designed to fill in the gap between Chevrolet's smaller Chevy II and larger models, the intermediate-sized Chevelle debuted in the 1964 model year with a variety of body styles. This 1966 Chevelle Malibu four-door sedan underwent a restoration 10 years ago that involved it being repainted in white. Its bodywork is accented with chrome bumpers and brightwork on the grille frame, driver-side mirror housing, greenhouse trim, door handles, and rear trim panel.

A set of aftermarket wheels and Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires connect the car to the road.

The cabin is furnished with teal carpeting, teal and white front and rear bench seats, teal door panels, and a matching dashboard. Features include lap belts, manual windows, a column-mounted automatic shifter, and an aftermarket audio system.

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a clock, and a fuel gauge. True mileage on the car is unknown.

The reportedly original inline-six engine was rebuilt during the restoration process and routes its output through an automatic transmission and the rear wheels. According to the seller, there are no leaks and the oil and spark plugs were changed two months ago.

New parts installed under current ownership include the straight-pipe exhaust, fuel tank, shocks, springs, and power braking system with front discs and rear drums. Additional photos of the underbody are available in the picture gallery.
