Vehicle Story

This 1950 Nash Rambler Custom Landau convertible coupe was purchased by the current owner in an estate sale. It comes equipped with a power-retractable convertible top, front and rear bench seats, manual windows, and a dash-mounted clock. Power comes from a 173ci I6 equipped with a rebuilt carburetor and replacement wiring, spark plugs, and spark plug wires, and is sent to the road through a 3-speed manual transmission. Finished in ivory with a power-operated retractable top over a sienna leather interior, this first-year Rambler is available now with a clear California title in the seller's name.

The Nash Motors Company division of the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation brought out the Rambler for the 1950 model year. With a 100-inch wheelbase, it was the brand's smallest vehicle; like other Nash models, it was made using unibody construction. This particular car is a Rambler Custom Landau two-door convertible coupe finished in ivory with fixed side roof rails and a power-retractable convertible top that fits under a snap-on cover. Brightwork accents are located on the hood ornament, badging, two-bar grille, front lighting rings, bumpers, side mirror housings, and door handles.

According to the seller, the passenger door currently does not open and there is a small dent on the right side of one of the bumpers.

The cabin is furnished with a body-color dashboard, sienna leather front and rear bench seats, and color-matched door panels. Equipment includes a black two-spoke steering wheel with a silver horn bar, manual crank windows, and a dash-mounted clock.

The gauge pod consists of a 90-mph speedometer, a nonfunctional fuel gauge, and a readout for the coolant temperature. According to the seller, there are 83K miles on the odometer.

Power from the naturally aspirated 173ci inline-six engine is sent to the pavement through a column-shifted 3-speed manual transmission and the rear wheels. Updates to the engine include an oil change, a rebuilt carburetor, and replacement wiring, spark plugs, and spark plug wires.

@Sumay13 – Tony being available today @ 3:00 is OK .... But a PM email with address ? contact cell # .... would be Helpful ! ...... Sent My contact Info to AutoHunter support 12/31, to forward to you.???? re: oo7stich, comments , passanger door ... ( non opp. ) noticed the spider web style paint cracking radiating 4", above and below the door handle ??? ...

Greetings! Let me get in touch with AH tomorrow and find out how I can send you my contact info without going via this platform! Regarding the door not functioning I guess I didn’t explain properly! When the door handle started to malfunction I contacted the company that has assisted me in the past with other vintage vehicles I had! (Example 1958 MBZ 220 S convertible Cabriolet) As you can see in the pictures of the 1950 Rambler/Nash the upholstery is in perfect condition. In order for the door/mechanical issues to be corrected, the door panel must be removed! This needs to be done with extreme caution, in order to protect the leather! That is why I’m waiting for this person to get well ! I hope this helps ! Regarding the cracks in one or two areas of the paint! That needs to be fixed by the new owner if the car is sold! Let’s don’t forget that this is a 1950 vehicle! And it is in incredible condition!
