This restored 1968 Fiat 500F coupe is finished in gray with a black fold-back canvas roof over a red and white vinyl interior that features front bucket seats and a rear bench. Behind the passenger compartment is the original air-cooled 499cc two-cylinder engine that received new spark plugs and an in-line fuel filter in September and sends its power through a 4-speed manual gearbox and the 12-inch rear wheels. Other updates include updated wiring for the exterior lighting, cleaned fuse box contacts, and a repaired fuel tank. Available now, this Italian two-door comes from the selling dealer with Italian and German documentation and a clear Florida title.
On July 4, 1957, Fiat revealed the Nuova 500 to the public as the successor to the 500 “Topolino." The newest version of the 500 featured restyled sheet metal, rear-hinged doors, and independent suspension. The 500F released for the 1965 model year had a larger windshield, conventional front-hinged doors, and an upgraded interior. This particular 1968 500F comes dressed in gray accented with brightwork on the front badging, headlight rings, front and rear bumpers, wiper arms, front side window frames, door handles, rocker panels, and taillight surrounds.
The car rides on a set of 12-inch wheels with chrome hubcaps and Pirelli Cinturato tires.
The cabin is furnished with black rubber floor covers, red front bucket seats with white piping and accent panels, a red rear bench seat with white piping, a body-color dashboard, and body-color doors with red panels. Equipment includes black door pulls, manual crank windows with front quarter vent windows, a two-spoke steering wheel, and a floor-mounted manual shifter.
Instrumentation consists of a Veglia Borletti S.p.A. 120-kph speedometer with an integrated five-digit odometer that shows 63K kilometers.
The louvered bottom-hinged rear panel covers the original air-cooled 499cc two-cylinder engine that routes its power to the road through a 4-speed manual gearbox and the rear wheels. A mechanical refresh carried out in September of 2021 included the installation of new spark plugs and an inline fuel filter, repairing/replacing the wiring for the exterior lighting, removing the fuse box and cleaning the contacts, cleaning and repairing the carburetor, repairing/cleaning the fuel tank and fuel line, and a 70-point inspection.
Additional pictures of the car's underbody are available in the photo carousel to the right.
Italian and German documentation are included with the sale of the vehicle.
