Vehicle Story

This 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS two-door hardtop is powered by a period-correct 1967 396ci V8 backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and features solid body panels, a reupholstered vinyl interior with a full center console, auxiliary gauges, and Rallye wheels on BFGoodrich tires. Finished in Deepwater Blue Metallic over a black vinyl interior, this factory SS 138 vin Chevelle is now offered with a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.

Filling the midsize slot in the Chevrolet lineup, the Chevelle first launched on the General Motors A-body platform in model year 1964 using body-on-frame construction. A refresh was later applied in 1966 with smoother body lines, a new grille, and a flying buttress roofline. This Chevelle from the following year has a rust-free two-door hardtop body that was repainted in Deepwater Blue Metallic (E-E) per the factory trim tag. The exterior has straight lines, glossy brightwork, and Super Sport badging. The seller notes that there is a minor ding on the left front fender.

Silver-painted 15” Rallye wheels with polished caps and trim rings are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires, and the suspension uses a four-link rear end.

The interior is furnished with reupholstered black vinyl bucket seating, along with matching materials for the door panels, padded dash, and carpeting. The face of the dash is dressed with a ribbed bright panel and Super Sport placard, while additional amenities include a Hurst shift lever, a Jensen AM/FM/cassette radio, and an SS-branded steering wheel.

Instrumentation is delivered via a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, an auxiliary 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and a fuel gauge, with additional aftermarket gauges mounted beneath the dash with readouts for coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 40k miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The period-correct 1967 big-block 396ci Turbo-Jet V8 was rated at 325 horsepower and is dressed with a chrome-finished air cleaner and valve covers. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.

@truckoutfitters – Autohunter has both a copy of the vin tag and the clear title. To my knowledge, that’s the vin/title check tag at the top of the listing. ...

The trim tag with the screw has not been answered. The trim tag is different from the vin tag. The vin tag should be present on the left (drivers side) A pillar. It should be a 13 digit number starting with 138 if it is a true SS car. In your pics showing the A pillar I do not see a vin tag present in the usual place for a 67 chevelle. Your answer "Autohunter has both a copy of the vin tag and the clear title, to my knowledge, thats the vin title check tag at the top of the listing", is confusing. Where at the top of the listing? what do you mean vin/title check tag? I will need to see a pic of the actual vin tag, not the trim tag, and also a pic of the title or verification from Autohunter regarding the actual vin number of this car before I can proceed with bidding. I am also going to reach out to Autohunter myself. Thank you.

@Envelopo – Didnt see an answer to lennythomas question regarding the screw on the vin tag. This can be cleared up with a pic of the vin on the door jamb and a pic of the clear title showing the vin. Are you able to provide these. ...
