1964 AMC Rambler Classic 660 Wagon

This 1964 AMC Rambler Classic 660 four-door station wagon has been resided long-term in southern states and is powered by a 327ci V8 backed by a Shift Command 3-speed automatic transmission. This wagon is equipped with aluminum wheels on low-profile tires, a luggage rack, a Sony audio system, bucket seats, and factory air conditioning. Mechanical condition is optimal thanks to recent replacement of the radiator and fuel pump, making this wagon turn-key ready. Finished in white over a two-tone green vinyl interior, this Rambler is now offered with a clear Florida title in the seller’s name.

The midsized Rambler Classic launched in model year 1961 taking the place of the Rambler Six and the Rambler Rebel. A redesign was applied in 1963 with curved side windows and more rounded styling, and in 1964, all Classics received a single pane aluminum grille and stainless-steel rocker moldings. This Rambler four-door station wagon reportedly spent residence in California before being purchased by the seller three years ago in North Carolina. The rust-free body is described as being in good condition and is finished in all-white, with exterior features including quad headlights with chrome eyelids, clean surrounding brightwork, a roof-mounted luggage rack, and a tow receiver at the rear. The seller notes that the passenger rear door needs adjustment and there is one bubble on the tailgate.

Aluminum five-spoke wheels with polished lips are wrapped in newer low-profile tires, and handling is assisted by power steering and power brakes.

The five-passenger interior is fitted with reupholstered two-tone green vinyl bucket seats up front and a bench in the rear, with matching materials for the door panels, dash, headliner, carpeting, and floor mats. Options include factory air conditioning, a Grant steering wheel, tinted glass, Classic 660 dash badging, and a modern Sony AM/FM/CD stereo system. The seller notes that the connection on the back of the clock is bad and the parking brake does not work.

Instrumentation is presented by a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level, although the fuel gauge does not work per the seller. The five-digit mechanical odometer read 38k miles, which the seller asserts is accurate although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The 327ci V8 is said to run well after recently receiving a replacement radiator and fuel pump. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Shift Command 3-speed automatic transmission.
