This 1965 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS Pro Street build has upgrades that include a 406ci stroker V8 backed by a Turbo-Hydramatic 350 transmission, a cowl induction hood, a set of polished Weld Prostar wheels, and a back-halved rear end with a narrowed rear axle equipped with a full spool differential. The black interior has aftermarket racing seats, harnesses, aluminum door panels, and a six-point roll cage. Refinished in metallic blue with silver stripes, this modified Nova is available now and comes with a clear Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The body was repainted metallic blue under previous ownership and features silver stripes on the aftermarket cowl induction hood and deck lid. Other elements include body-color bumpers, SS badges, and chrome door handles and trim.
A set of polished Weld Prostar wheels with staggered-width tires have been installed.
The interior has two black front racing bucket seats with a set of blue safety harnesses. The rear seat has been removed and replaced with black carpeted rear wheel tubs to fit the Pro Street-style rear tires. A six-point roll cage with light blue padding is present. The three-spoke Grant GT steering wheel is equipped with a button for the line lock system. A B&M shifter with reverse lockout and a fire extinguisher are mounted on the transmission tunnel between the seats. According to the seller, the shifter linkage may need a minor adjustment.
The dashboard is refinished in black and features a gauge cluster and metallic trim. A 10,000-rpm AutoMeter Auto Gage tachometer with shift light is mounted on top of a black carpeted dash pad. In the center of the dash, there is an MSD timing control, an electric cut-off switch, and an aftermarket gauge panel with readouts for the oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage.
The original engine has been replaced with a 406ci stroker V8 connected to a 3-speed Turbo-Hydromatic 350 transmission. Gas is supplied by a fuel cell, a Holley electric fuel pump, and braided steel lines. Additional hardware includes stamped valve covers, an open-element air cleaner, a Weiand high rise intake, a Holley 650-cfm carburetor, an MSD distributor and ignition system, and an Optima Redtop battery. The seller states the oil was changed and a new oil pan was installed in the summer of 2021. A video containing footage of the engine bay and undercarriage is posted below.
Stopping is handled by a dual-circuit manual brake system with a line lock mounted next to the dual-circuit master cylinder on the driver’s fender well. The seller states the rear disc brakes stick slightly and will need to be adjusted.
As part of this car's Pro Street build process, the rear frame rails were narrowed and the rear wheel tubs were widened. In addition, the rear axle was narrowed and fitted with a full spool.
