This steel-bodied 1936 Ford 5-window coupe was purchased from a private collection by the selling dealer and used as a display in an indoor automotive event venue. It is powered by a 350ci Chevrolet V8 equipped with an Edelbrock carburetor and an automatic choke and comes paired with a recently rebuilt Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a Weiand Intake, electronic ignition, headers, and a custom dual exhaust system. Finished in red over a white custom interior, this vintage Ford is available now and comes with a clear Michigan title.
The red exterior features a two-panel horizontal grille, a top-mounted single windshield wiper, body-color running boards, and a matching rear panel that opens to deploy the rear rumble seat. Brightwork accents include the bumpers, trim, and dual exhaust outlets.
Polished Boyd Coddington wheels are wrapped in tires with black sidewall lettering. According to the seller, two front spinners are missing.
The custom interior is upholstered in white vinyl with a split-bench seat in the front, a matching armrest for the front occupants, pleated door panels, and a fold-out rumble seat in the rear. Woodgrain trim is found on the rim of the three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel and the dashboard. Amenities include an automatic floor shifter and Vintage Air air conditioning with controls located behind the cover to the glove compartment. According to the seller, there is some slight yellowing on the white upholstery, which is shown in the photo gallery to the right.
Instrumentation from VDO includes a 120-mph speedometer along with gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. According to the selling dealer, the only miles they put on this vehicle were for maintenance purposes. True mileage on the chassis is unknown.
Power comes from a 350ci Chevrolet V8 paired with a Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission that was rebuilt in November of 2021. Performance upgrades include electronic ignition, headers, a Weiand intake, an Edelbrock 1406 carburetor, and an automatic choke. The video below shows the vehicle being started up, revved, and driven away.
