Vehicle Story

This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Pro Touring build has several upgrades, including a 454ci V8 crate engine equipped with a Holley Sniper EFI system and Hedman Husler headers, a built 700R4 automatic transmission, LED headlights, a Bluetooth-compatible stereo with a trunk-mounted subwoofer, power steering and Wilwood disc brakes with hydro-boost, front and rear coil-over shocks, and 18-inch American Racing wheels. Its new black TMI custom leather interior is equipped with Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air heat and air conditioning, an Ididit tilt steering column, and a B&M shifter. This Candy Apple Red Camaro is available now and comes with documentation and a clear South Carolina title in the seller's name.

The body was painted Candy Apple Red in approximately 2018 under previous ownership. It features a front chin spoiler, chrome front and rear bumpers, SS badging, LED headlights, a cowl induction-style hood, and a rear spoiler. One of the three videos below shows an exterior walkaround of the vehicle.

A set of 18-inch American Racing Wheels are wrapped in low-profile tires. New four-wheel Wilwood disc brakes with drilled and slotted rotors along with a hydro-boost setup provide stopping power.

The new cabin is furnished with black carpeting, a black dashboard, door panels with window cranks, front and rear leather TMI sport seating accented with black microfiber inserts and chrome and red button details. A black leather-wrapped aftermarket steering wheel tops an Ididit tilt steering column. Shifting is handled by a B&M shifter.

An aftermarket Bluetooth-compatible stereo head unit plays through kick panel- and rear deck-mounted speakers and a subwoofer located in the trunk. The original dash gauge bezels house Dakota Digital analog gauges. The controls for the Vintage Air climate control system are located above the stereo. Aftermarket lock strikers and vents are visible in the door jambs.

The original engine has been replaced with a 454ci big block V8 equipped with a Holley Sniper EFI system, a March Performance pulley system, Hedman Husler headers, and a three-inch exhaust setup. A hydro-boost system for the power steering and brakes has been added as well as stainless braided lines for the air conditioning and steering. A matte black air cleaner, valve covers, and inner fender wells contrast with the chrome alternator, power steering reservoir, master cylinder, and AC compressor. An electric fan cools the aluminum radiator and AC condenser. A built 700R4 automatic transmission sends the engine's output to the road. In the videos below, the car is shown starting up and idling.

Updated chassis components include a 12-bolt limited-slip rear end with a Moser cover, a Heidts four-link rear suspension, front and rear coilovers, tubular upper and lower control arms, and a front sway bar. According to the seller, all exposed underbody surfaces have been powdercoated. Additional photos of the underbody are in the picture carousel to the right.

The seller states the body is rust-free and that the car is kept in a climate-controlled garage. Documentation is included with the purchase of the vehicle.

@Trifives – Is the engine a crate engine how many miles How much rust was in the panels before the restoration How many pairs t chips and flaws How does it handle What all does it need to make it perfect ...

Yes, the engine is a new GM crate engine. just over 300 miles on it. I have no idea about any rust prior to restoration. I bought it from the guy that had it restored as you see it. I replaced the motor and had the transmission rebuilt. I attached a couple of pics he sent me. Not sure if you can tell much from them. I counted two on hood, both about 1/16 of an inch or so. One inside trunk lid on side about 3/8 of an inch. Don't know what your idea of perfect is but it's pretty close. Nothing that's going to be very expensive I don't think. The subwoofer could be upgraded. The hinges on trunk lid look great but you can't open the trunk all the way. Maybe hinges are too short. Not sure. Another detail underneath cause the mechanic that rebuilt trans, test drove it on some wet roads. I have never had it out of the climate-controlled garage (73 degrees year-round) if there were even any leftover puddles in parking lot.

@bert1954 – hello, do you know the approximate hp at the rear wheels? what compression are you running in the 454? what fuel are you using any knock problems? ...

I don't know what the HP is at the tires. It is very fast though. I have a '67 vette with a 427/435hp and I think the 454 is definitely much faster. I am waiting on mechanic that ordered and installed motor to get back in town for compression info. I run 90 octane with no ethanol or 93 and do not have any issues with power (no knocking).
