Vehicle Story

This 1966 Ford Mustang A-code convertible was restored in 2017 and is powered by a Ford V8 289ci connected to a four-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission. Features include a power top, power steering, power brakes, an aftermarket JVC stereo/cassette player, the 76B Pony Package, and chrome wheels with red-striped BFGoodrich tires. Available now from a dealership, this Springtime Yellow Mustang comes with service records and a clear Tennessee title.

The body is finished in Springtime Yellow with a power black convertible top. A chrome front bumper with lower bumper guards is present. The front windshield has a shaded top. A chrome bumper with lower bumper guards, tri-bar taillights, and a center-mounted gas cap are at the rear. The selling dealer notes that some amateur touchups have been made to the paint.

A set of 14-inch Mustang Rally wheels with red centers are wrapped in reportedly new red-striped BFGoodrich tires.

The interior is furnished with the black 76B Pony Package interior with black carpeting and matching door and quarter panel trim. Front and rear seat belts are in place. An aftermarket center console has been added. The dashboard features a black dash pad and woodgrain accents over the gauge panel and glove box. Controls for windshield wipers, lights, ignition, and power top are located under the gauge panel. Climate controls and an ashtray are in the center under the aftermarket JVC radio/cassette player. The Springtime Yellow steering column is connected to a three-spoke steering wheel with a Mustang horn button. The trunk interior and lid are painted to match in Springtime Yellow. A trunk mat covers the gas tank and floor and a matching spare tire cover conceals the spare tire. The trunk also contains a black convertible top boot.

The gauge panel houses a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The odometer reads 86K miles.

The engine is an A-code 289ci V8 backed by an automatic transmission. A four-barrel carburetor, cast iron exhaust manifolds, stamped valve covers, and a chrome open-element air cleaner are also present. Additional hardware includes a battery with an electrical cut-off switch and a power brake master cylinder. The seller states a dealer safety inspection and fresh oil change have been completed.

The ribbed floor panels, torque boxes, and front and rear suspension are black. A sway bar has been mounted in the front. The power steering equipment can be seen along with a full-length dual exhaust system that exits under the rear valance panel. Additional photos of the underbody are in the gallery to the right.

Seller states the previous owner’s service records will be included.
