This 1966 Chevrolet II is powered by a Gen. 6 468ci big block Chevrolet engine backed by a 400-turbo transmission with 3200-rpm stall convertor. Features include Mustang II independent front suspension with tubular control arms, rack and pinion steering, power front disc brakes, a narrowed rear axle, and a new wiring harness. This black 1966 Chevrolet with red interior is available now with a clear title from the selling dealer.
The body is finished in black and has all the factory chrome and stainless trim, emblems, and handles in place. A new grill, taillights, headlights, bumpers, door hinges, all new glass, and rear emblems have been added. According to the selling dealer, the body still wears the original fenders, doors, deck lid, quarter panels, and trunk pans. A steel cowl induction style domed hood has been added. The driver’s door has been fitted with a round chrome Chevrolet bowtie emblem mirror. The chrome rear bumper is mounted below stock taillights with integrated reverse lights.
The front American Racing Torque Thrust wheels are wrapped in black wall radial tires. The rear American Racing Torque Thrust wheels are wrapped in BF Goodrich 275/60/15 radial tires. Additional photos can be found in the carousel to the right.
The front bucket seats are upholstered in red vinyl material in original patterns with a rear matching seat. The red vinyl material is carried into the door panels that are mounted to gloss red interior door shells. Chrome manual window and exit handles have been installed. Red carpeting covers the floorboards throughout. A red vinyl headliner and matching visors can be seen above. Red seat belts are mounted on the two front bucket seats. The trunk is upholstered with red vinyl matching the interior covering custom front and side close out panels. Red carpeting covers the trunk floor where the Red Top Optima battery is mounted.
The original steel dashboard is refinished in gloss red with a red vinyl dash pad. A black custom gauge panel houses a sweep style 120-mph speedometer with a 5-place odometer, fuel and voltage gauge, coolant temperature and oil pressure gauge. The controls for the headlights, wipers, ignition, and cigarette lighter can be found directly under the gauge panel. A radio block off panel has been installed in the center of the dash just above the climate controls and ash tray to the left of the glove box. An original non-tilt steering column is topped with a 3-spoke Chevrolet steering wheel with a red grip. A custom center console separates the front bucket seats and houses a B&M automatic transmission shifter.
The 468ci engine is a decked 4-bolt main Gen. 6 454ci block bored .030 over with J&E forged pistons backed by a 400 Turbo transmission with a modified valve body and a 3200-rpm stall convertor. Additional engine parts include a Howard’s hydraulic roller cam (302/308 duration .640 lift), Howard’s roller lifters, Kellogg steel crank, King bearings, Cloye’s roller timing chain, GM performance heads 502/502hp, ARP head studs, ProComp steel roller rockers, custom push rods, ProComp air gap intake, Melling’s oil pump, AED 750cfm carburetor, GM gear reduction starter, MSD distributor, MSD 6AL control box, TCI flywheel, PowerMaster 110-amp alternator, electric water pump, and TCI ceramic coated 2” headers. The original front suspension has been replaced by a Heidt’s Mustang II crossmember with tubular upper and lower control arms with QA1 12-way coil overs. A Flaming River rack and pinion has been installed. The stopping power is provided by 1982 Z28 calipers with drilled and slotted front rotors, rear Buick Grand National aluminum drums, and stainless steel brake lines. A tubular Heidt’s transmission crossmember has been installed. A custom drive shaft, built by Bowman’s Drivelines, rated at 800-hp sends power to a narrowed 12-bolt rear axle housing with a 3:55 Motive gear with a Yukon differential, Moser 33-spline custom alloy axles with c-clips eliminated, Ford Torino bearings, ½ inch wheel studs, billet yoke, and Moser aluminum cover with supports is mounted with a TCI rear frame section 4-link with coil overs. @rkhandan – Hello yes it has a gas control just the plastic pedal was not on when photographs were take . One can easily be put on and will be done before new owner takes over ...
Whew, thank you. Thought I had gone soft in the head. Fantastic car. Hope you get your reserve.
@MRMR – OK, risking total embarrassment here but I have looked at the interior pics every which way and sideways and I can't see a gas pedal. Is it a trick of the light? Where is the gas pedal? ...

@Jdod23 – Awesome II. Is the title California? ...
Its a TN title. If you are a California buyer and end up purchasing, we will collect sales tax and license and have DMV issue you a new California title under your name. If you are an out of California resident, there is no tax and license collected so long as you are shipping the car out of CA, and we give you the TN title and bill of sale and you register the car in your home state and pay applicable taxes or fees there. Thanks
Awesome II. Is the title California?
@rkhandan – Hi Franky, the driveline is rated for 800HP but it has not been dynoed. If we were to guess, we would say 500-600HP, our lead mechanic who loves hotrods drove it and he was shaking at the end of the drive :) ...
Thanks so much again!
@FrankyP – Hello - Beautiful car! Has this car been dynoed, or do you know the horsepower/ torque numbers? I see a 502 HP reference in the engine description but think that may be related to the heads themselves. Thanks! Franky ...
