Vehicle Story

This 1985 Chevrolet El Camino is powered by a Jasper 305ci V8 engine equipped with a rebuilt starter and alternator and a newer battery and spark plugs. Features include a 3-speed automatic transmission, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit, air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and aftermarket dual exhaust. Finished in its original red paint over a tan cloth interior, this fifth-generation El Camino has lived most of its life in California and is available now and comes from the seller with a build sheet, an owner's manual, warranty paperwork, service records, and a clear Pennsylvania title.

According to the seller, the body still has its original red paint, which is accented with black hood stripes. Exterior features include body-color sport mirrors, a chrome grille and front bumper, a chrome rear bumper with guards and a black impact strip, and horizontal taillights with integrated reverse lights. The interior of the bed is refinished in black.

The red steel wheels with trim rings are wrapped in blackwall radial tires.

The split bench seat is covered in tan cloth and features a fold-down armrest. The door panels and the rest of the cabin are tan vinyl. Woodgrain accents the dashboard and center stack. The doors have working power windows and locks. Tan carpet covers the entire cabin floor and rear wall. The climate controls are located above the aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. An aftermarket Sunpro coolant temperature gauge is mounted to the left of the climate controls. The tilt steering column is equipped with a wiper/cruise control stalk and a tan 2-spoke steering wheel.

The dashboard is topped with a black carpeted pad and houses an 85-mph speedometer, a 6K-rpm tachometer with an integrated clock, and fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure gauges. The 5-place odometer reads 29,500 miles, but the Carfax report shows a mileage figure of 100,408 in May of 2008 and a potential odometer rollover in May of 2010. True mileage is unknown.

The seller states that a brand-new Jasper 305ci V8 engine was installed on June 21, 2021 with an odometer reading of 26,655 on the body at the time of install.  Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. Newer engine parts include the battery, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and rebuilt starter and alternator. An engine video can be found below.

The independent front suspension has stamped steel control arms and the 10-bolt rear axle is mounted with springs and control arms. Front power disc brakes and rear drum brakes provide the vehicle's stopping power. The aftermarket exhaust system consists of a catalytic converter, a single muffler, and dual tips that exit behind the rear tires.

The sale includes the build sheet, an owner's manual, warranty paperwork, and service records.
