Vehicle Story

Completed 3 years ago, this rotisserie-restored 1970 Plymouth GTX has been with the same owner for 22 years and is equipped with a 440ci 6-pack V8 engine rebuilt by Daly’s Machine Company and Auto Craft Inc., a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission, power steering, and power front disc brakes. Features include an Air Grabber hood with hood pins, an AM radio with iPod integration, an 8-track tape player, a rebuilt Dana 60 rear axle, and a replacement vinyl top. Newer features include the interior and headliner, exhaust, gas tank, gas lines, clutch, and pressure plate. Some receipts and documentation of the restoration will be included with the sale. This Lime Light Green GTX with a white vinyl interior is available now and comes with a clear title.

Originally painted B5 Brite Blue Metallic, the body has been refinished in Lime Light Green and has chrome and stainless trim, emblems, and handles. A chrome front bumper with integrated turn signals is mounted below a gray grille with quad headlights and a GTX logo. An Air Grabber hood (N96) with matte black striping and hood pins is present. Black sport stripes (V6X) run from the side scoops to the headlights. A new black vinyl top was installed as part of the build. A matte black Go Wing is mounted to the trunk. The chrome rear bumper is mounted below the black taillight panel with quad taillights and a Plymouth logo. The reported factory antenna can be seen on the right front fender in the correct location and chrome mirrors consist of a remote-controlled unit on the driver side and a manually-operated unit on the other.

A set of steel Chrysler Rallye wheels with stainless trim rings and correct center caps are wrapped in Goodyear Polyglas GT raised-white-letter tires.

Originally a teal and black bucket seat interior (P6XA and TX9), the cabin now features front bucket seats and a matching full-width rear seat reupholstered with white vinyl. White carries on to the door and quarter panel trim as well as the newer white headliner. Woodgrain inserts, stainless trim, manual window cranks, and chrome exit handles can be seen on the door panels. Black carpet covers the cabin floor. Black seat belts are mounted at all locations. Three-point seat belt extensions can be seen mounted to the headliner. A black center console with a woodgrain insert and a pistol grip shifter separates the front seats. The black padded dashboard has a woodgrain insert that houses the controls for the 3-speed wipers, headlights, turn signals, and climate system. It comes equipped with a thumbwheel-style AM radio with iPod integration and an 8-track player. The steering column is topped with a 3-spoke sport steering wheel with a wood rim and padded horn button. The trunk interior and underside of the trunk lid have been refinished in Lime Light Green. The jacking instructions and Go Wing brackets can be seen on the trunk lid. A steel Rallye wheel wrapped in a Goodyear Polyglas GT F60-15 raised-white-letter tire is mounted to the trunk floor. A chrome fire extinguisher and gray trunk mat are installed on the trunk floor.

A 150-mph speedometer with an integrated 5-place odometer, an 8K-rpm Tik-Tok-Tach (N85), and fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and alternator gauges can be seen in the woodgrain Rallye dash panel. According to the seller, the vehicle has hood-mounted turn signals and the tachometer works but is not accurate.

The engine is a 440ci 6-pack V8 (E87) that has been bored .030 over and rebuilt by Daly’s Machine Company and Auto Craft Inc. It comes paired with a rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission (D21) that has a newer clutch and pressure plate along with a pistol grip shifter handle. The orange stamped steel valve covers, cast iron exhaust manifolds, MSD ignition, power steering pump, alternator, open-element air cleaner connected to the Air Grabber hood, power brake master cylinder, and brake booster complete the engine.

The entire underbody of this rotisserie restoration has been refinished in Lime Light Green. The front suspension crossmember with heavy-duty suspension package as well as the steering linkage, sway bar, and torsion bars are matte black. The newer fuel lines, gas tank, brake lines, and full-length dual exhaust have a natural finish. The rebuilt Dana 60 rear axle, fitted with 3:54 gears and a sway bar, has been refinished in matte black. A driveshaft safety loop has been added. According to the owner, the oil was changed once a year using Valvoline Racing SAE 10W-30 high-zinc oil.

Partial receipts and restoration documentation will be included with the sale. A cold start video is available below for viewing.
