Vehicle Story

This 1934 Ford 5-window coupe received a frame-off custom build at an original expense in excess of $160,000 and features a TCI chassis, an original all-steel Ford body, a Mustang Boss-sourced 302ci V8 paired with an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, and a Ford 9-inch rear end. Upgrades include Vintage Air HVAC, a Lokar shifter, a coilover suspension, and a dual exhaust system. Finished in Vermilion Red with painted flames over a tan cloth and leather interior, this garage-kept coupe is now offered with a car cover, a nose mask, receipts, and a clear title in the seller’s name.

This custom 5-window coupe features an all-steel body that was subjected to a professional frame-off build and a repaint in Vermilion Red under the direction of Randy’s Rods and Customs in Oregon in 2001. The exterior features painted flames, a chrome grille, a functional cowl vent, suicide doors, dual side mirrors, and a dual exhaust system with polished outlets.

Polished aluminum Boyd Coddington wheels are wrapped in BFGoodrich tires that are more than six years old.

The interior is fitted with tan leather and cloth bench seating with matching replacement kick panels and floor mats. Amenities include a Lokar AOD shifter, a Vintage Air A/C system, a tilt steering column, a hidden battery cut-off switch and USB port, and an Alpine AM/FM/10-CD sound system with Infinity speakers. Additional features include a pop-out front windshield and roll-down rear window.

The custom instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for the voltage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The previous odometer was replaced in 2019 when it showed 17,780 miles. The current unit shows 576 miles. True mileage on the chassis is unknown.

The center-hinged hood opens up to display the Mustang-sourced Boss 302ci V8 which reportedly bears casting #DOZE6015A and features a Holley Sniper fuel injection system, Ford Motorsport valve covers, a Walker high-performance radiator with an electric fan, a serpentine belt front loader, custom headers and exhaust, and aluminum oil and transmission pans. Power is fed to the rear wheels via an AOD 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a Ford 9-inch rear end.

This coupe rolls on a custom TCI chassis, sprung by a four-link coilover suspension and a dropped front axle. Braking comes from discs up front and drums in the rear. Additional photos showing the underside are available in the carousel.

The sale includes recent service receipts, a custom nose mask, and a car cover. The seller has posted three videos of the car below.
