This 1965 Chevrolet Chevy II Nova SS two-door hardtop draws power from a small-block 327ci V8 with a blueprinted L79 camshaft, an all-steel crankshaft, and performance valve heads, and sends power to the rear through a 4-speed manual transmission. This Nova features power steering, chrome bumpers, brightwork trim, Cragar wheels, and a refreshed cabin. Finished in dark cherry paint over a black vinyl interior, this Nova is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
The compact Chevy II went into production for the 1962 model year leveraging a semi-unibody platform and was offered in sedan, hardtop, convertible, and station wagon body styles. A design refresh two years later added a new full-width grille, lowered parking lamps, and revised taillights. This 1965 Nova was repainted dark cherry and features brightwork for the grille, bumpers, window trim, Super Sport badging, and side moldings.
Chrome-finished 14-inch Cragar wheels with knock-off caps are wrapped in a combination of Futura GLS Super Sport and Milestar tires with good tread remaining. Steering is power-assisted.
The interior is fitted with black vinyl bucket front and rear bench seating that ties in with the door panels, padded dash, carpeting, and SS-embroidered floor mats. Amenities include a push-button Delco radio, metallic console and dash trim, and Super Sport branding on the steering wheel hub. The trunk contains a full-size spare tire on a Cragar wheel as well as a compact spare.
Instrumentation is housed in an aluminum bezel and includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 24K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The balanced 327ci V8 has been upgraded with an all-steel crank, 2.02-inch-diameter intake valves, and a blueprinted L79 camshaft. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission.
