This 1989 Lotus Esprit is a British two-door sports coupe powered by a turbocharged 2.2-liter inline-4 engine paired with a 5-speed manual transaxle. It has spent its life in southern states and has clean, original body lines along with Dunlop tires. Finished in Monaco White over a charcoal leather interior, this Series 3 Esprit is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and clear title.
The Esprit two-door sports coupe was introduced in the 1970s and underwent a series of cosmetic changes in the years that followed. A 1987 rework brought glass, taillight, and rocker panel changes to create the X180 series of models. This Esprit from 1989 is painted Monaco White with darker lower panels and exhibits well-kept exterior finishes. The exterior features fog lamps, color-keyed side mirrors, front and rear side marker lamps, and a black taillight bezel.
Directional 15-inch factory OZ wheels are wrapped in Dunlop tires. Braking comes via four-wheel power-assisted discs.
The 2-seat interior is fitted with charcoal leather buckets matched to the door panels, dash, console, and carpeting. Amenities include a Bluetooth-compatible radio with USB and SD card input ports, air conditioning, power windows, and a 3-spoke Momo steering wheel.
Instrumentation from VDO includes a 160-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, boost, and coolant temperature. The 5-digit mechanical odometer reads 79K miles. The last mileage figure listed on the Carfax report in January of 2005 is 76,203 miles.
The 2.2-liter turbocharged inline-4 has a multi-point fuel injection system and was rated at 264 horsepower when new. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 5-speed manual transaxle.
The CARFAX report starts in 1991 and shows no accidents or damage on file. A $351 dealer fee will be added to the sale price, which covers documentation as well as a temporary tag.
