This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible has been driven roughly 300 miles since the completion of a frame-off restoration during the prior owner’s two decades of ownership. It receives power from a small-block 327ci V8 paired with a 4-speed manual transmission and offers updated Autometer gauges, a radio, and American Racing wheels on Kumho tires. Refinished in red with a black cloth retractable top over a red vinyl interior, this C2 Corvette is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Florida title.
The second-generation Corvette sports car launched for the 1963 model year was modeled after the Mako Shark concept and utilized fiberglass body panels and the Sting Ray nameplate. This Corvette convertible from the following year was garage-kept during the previous owner's 20+ years of ownership and was subjected to a frame-off restoration in that time that included a repaint in red and the installation of a replacement black cloth retractable top. The body wears bright trim for the split bumpers, side-exit exhausts, window surrounds, and other areas. Other exterior features include pop-up headlamps, vented front fenders, and quad round taillights.
Polished aluminum 5-spoke 17-inch American Racing wheels are wrapped in Kumho Ecsta tires. Braking is handled by discs at all four corners.
The two-seat cockpit is fitted with red vinyl bucket seats with a similar color scheme carried through to the door panels, dual-cowl dash, carpeting, and center console. Amenities include an analog clock and a push-button radio in the center stack.
The aftermarket Auto Meter instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer, a 10K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The 5-digit mechanical odometer shows approximately 500 miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The small-block 327ci V8 feeds power to the rear wheels via a console-shifted 4-speed manual transmission. Horsepower is rated at 365.
