This 1964 Opel Kadett A coupe is a two-owner Arizona car that has been driven fewer than 500 miles since the completion of a comprehensive three-year restoration encompassing the exterior, interior, and drivetrain. Under the hood, the 1.0-liter inline-4 has been rebuilt and received work to the cooling and electrical systems, carburetor, spark plugs, and clutch. Power is sent to the rear via a 4-speed manual transmission. Refinished in red over a two-tone black and white vinyl interior, this Kadett is now offered with documentation, receipts, shop manuals, tool and first aid kits, and a clear Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The Kadett was marketed under General Motors’ Opel brand as a C-class small family car beginning in 1936 and was relaunched in 1962 on a new chassis as the Kadett A. This Kadett A two-door from 1964 was repainted in its correct red as part of a three-year restoration process completed in 2021. Any rusted areas were replaced with new metal and the entire body was sanded, primed, and refinished. New rubber seals on the windows, doors, and suspension were installed. In addition, the lenses for the running lights and turn signals were replaced. The exterior is accented with brightwork for the bumpers, grille, headlight surrounds, side moldings, and badging.
Steel 12-inch wheels with dog dish hubcaps and chrome trim rings are wrapped in radial tires. The braking system received work including new pads, master cylinder, and rubber lines.
The interior was fitted with reupholstered two-tone black and white vinyl bucket front and bench rear seating during restoration. The cabin was redressed with new sound damping material and carpeting, custom Kadett-branded floor mats, and a new headliner. Amenities include a new window washer foot pump, USB ports, a radio, and a deluxe horn ring.
Instrumentation includes a 95-mph speedometer flanked by gauges for the coolant temperature and fuel level. The seller notes the fuel gauge intermittently reads incorrectly. The odometer currently reads 44K miles, although true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
The rebuilt, water-cooled 1.0-liter inline-4 uses a 6-volt electrical system and received a mechanical overhaul as part of the restoration process. It comes with a rebuilt carburetor, a rebuilt propeller shaft hanger bearing, and a rebuilt generator. New parts include the OEM distributor, spark plug wires, water pump, battery, radiator core, clutch, and throw-out bearing. Power is directed to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that there is an oil seep at the rear of the engine.
Additional photos showing the underside of the vehicle are available in the carousel.
The sale includes shop manuals, receipts, and documentation as well as tool and first aid kits. The seller has provided videos showing the vehicle's condition and functionality below.

@Rideklein – Scott, any plans on a driving video or too late? Unless I missed the video? ...
Hello. There is a driving video above. It is the one with the Opel's doors open on the asphalt. The 3rd one from the bottom (last one is called "Light Check"). I hope this is what you are looking for.
